Registration for public tours of Savannah River Site begins Dec. 30. Two driving tours will be held each month – except in November and December, when one tour is offered.

Tours begin at the Aiken County Applied Research Center located off Highway 278 new New Ellenton, S.C. The free tours begin at 12:30 p.m. and end about 4:30 p.m.

Participants must be 18 or older and U.S. citizens. To register, visit, or call (803) 952-8994.

The 2014 public tour dates are:

Jan. 16 and 28; Feb. 13 and 25; March 11 and 25; April 15 and 22; May 6 and 15; June 3 and 17; July 8 and 24; Aug. 5 and 21; Sept. 9 and 18; Oct. 7 and 23; Nov. 11; and Dec. 9.
