Vehicles drive along Bobby Jones Expressway headed east past exit 16, where there are a series of bumps, dips and cracks that are more significant than normal junctions at overpasses.

WHAT: A series of large dips and bumps in the road approaching the overpasses for Sand Bar Ferry Road and Laney-Walker Boulevard in the eastbound and westbound lanes

WHO’S RESPONSIBLE: Georgia Department of Transportation

ACTION PROMISED: GDOT Area Engineer Rodney Way inspected the area, finding settlement in the roadway that he said is common where large amounts of fill material are used to adjust the grade. The portion of the interstate, constructed in 2004, is scheduled to be resurfaced in 2014. Imperfections, such as dips and bumps in the pavement, will be corrected during this process, he said.

And WHY do they have those concrete strips running horizontal in the right hand lane around Peach Orchard exit and beyond? Annoying to say the least and trying to follow the law and stay to the right to let the folks that want to run 80 mph have their way makes you want to use the left lane and just drive the speed limit!
