Inclement weather is derailing Harlem’s annual holiday festival Saturday.

City officials decided Wednesday to cancel the 11th annual Christmas in the Heart of Downtown Harlem Festival and Parade because of the threat of heavy rain and lightning Saturday, city Special Events Coordinator Stacie Hart said.

The festival was set to include a parade, arts and crafts vendors, and a cookie contest. All have been canceled and will not be rescheduled, Hart said.
