Empty Stocking Fund: Mourning mother lacks Christmas funding

WHO’S IN NEED

“This year has really been sad and unsuccessful,” writes an Aiken mother of three.

“My oldest son was killed in a wreck on Memorial Day weekend. He was only 19, but we were partners when it came to finances. Now he’s gone and it’s been an emotional roller coaster.

“I am trying hard to get back on my feet, but right now I need help.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 83 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $93,000 that helped children and families across the region.

Donations are tax-deductible.
