Empty Stocking Fund: Aunt asks for help this Christmas

WHO’S IN NEED

A North Augusta mother has taken on the care of three nephews after the death of their mother, who was her sister.

Now she and her son are both working to feed and care for the family.

“There will be no Christmas at my home this year without your help,” she writes. “The kids only have just enough clothes for me to wash every week for school. I have no other help, but I refuse to give the children up to the welfare system.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 83 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $93,000 that helped families across the region.

Donations are tax-deductible.
