Today is the last day of school for some students in the Augusta area as they prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Columbia, Burke and McDuffie county students have a entire week off to celebrate with their families, according to school Web sites. Richmond and Aiken county students’ vacations will be slightly shorter with only Wednesday through next Friday out of school.

Richmond County Schools Are Closed All Week For Thanksgiving

Looking at the RCBOE calendar it does state for Thanksgiving week that the kids are out from the 27 thru the 29th. However it also shows teacher furlough days for the 25th and 26th. So parents believe your child when they say they are off all week. I asked mine 3 times before I looked on the website. AC needs to correct this article.
