OUR IMMIGRATION laws are not broken. They are not being enforced. More lies coming from our politicians in order to legalize millions of illegal aliens.

WHILE TEA PARTY members continue to think shutting down the government didn’t hurt anything, it will be a shame if the Republican caucus is let off the hook for its accountability in governing responsibly.

IF YOU HAVE rental property, here’s a tip. Get at least three references and call them right in front of your potential renters. You might be surprised how many phone calls this will save you later.

PRESIDENT OBAMA says that immigration reform will grow the economy and reduce the deficit. How? He’s trying to sell immigration reform anyway he can. Truth does not come into it!

RANT FOR Russell and his latest package of raises for county employees with a budget deficit of $8.5 million dollars! This is crazy!

IS AUGUSTA INSANE? Thinking of spending $1 million each on five roundabouts? These roads are in dire need of having the white center lines repainted. The lines are barely visible in daylight and a safety hazard under dark and rainy conditions.

EVERYBODY knows that George Bush was responsible for the recent shutdown and “Obamacare” debacle. Sorry, George, we had to pin it on someone since nobody else is taking full responsibility.

THE WEEKLY crime report with a map showing activities is great. However, it seems like every week the count shows 13 robberies and 11 emergency responses. Is there a problem with counting?

DEMOCRATIC congressmen are now requesting a delay in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. I wonder if President Obama will accuse them of trying to hold America hostage and being terrorists?

ELORA HAMPTON has written and published two books now in the bookstore in the mall. Elora lives in Harlem, Ga., where they are very proud of her wisdom to do God’s inspired work.

RAVE TO Augusta Mall and the new Michael Kors store. Too many folks take for granted the great mall we have in our community.

NEXT TIME you’re in the hospital, give me a call and we’ll talk about how much that nurse is worth.

Introduction

I would like to introduce to you a man that makes perfect sense to me about where we are today and what we are facing. Most have never heard of him but I ask you to get to know him.
This is a political endorsement. Agree or disagree, get to know him.
Dummett for President 2016
General Platform Planks
John Albert Dummett Jr. Republican POTUS 2016

For the spiritual health of our nation—and for its ultimate survival—God will not be divorced from State or Federal government. This nation was founded upon Judeo-Christian principles, and Americans have a God-given right to worship the way they see fit without any interference of any governmental authority.

I believe that all human life is sacred, and I believe that life begins at conception. I agree with our Founding Fathers that our Creator God endows us with certain unalienable rights. One of those rights is the right to life, especially for babies the most innocent of all human life. Abortion will not be used as a form of retroactive birth control. Parental notification about juvenile pregnancy will be mandatory.

I believe that marriage is between one man and one woman.

To be a United States Citizen is a privilege and a blessing. Observing different cultures is what makes America great. However, celebrating different cultures will not take precedence over traditional United States culture. We are Americans from the United States, we are not hyphenated Americans. Hyphens divide, they do not unify.

Constitution and Rule of Law

I will demand that all provisions of the Constitution be adhered to and I will defend it from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

No person is above the law. Let’s identify and ensure that the perpetrators responsible for the worst financial swindle the world has ever experienced are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I will work to decrease the size of the federal government and to restore the rightful balance of power granted to the individual States as stated in the United States Constitution.

Immigration

Illegal Immigrants will be deported the moment they are discovered.

Current immigration laws will be strengthened, observed and enforced.

A fence will be built along the U.S. southern border and will be monitored by Border Patrol, National Guard troops or the United Stated military to keep out persons not legally eligible to be on U.S. soil.

Foreign workers will be allowed to work in this nation, but once the job is completed, they will return to their country of origin.

Any taxes due and owing to the United States or any governmental authority will be paid.

English is the official language of the land for private and public business. Immigrants will be required to read and write English well enough to conduct everyday business. Translation of official government or business documents will no longer be provided.

Education

Parents have the right to discipline their children and will have the right to determine what is morally correct.

Parents should have the right to send their children to the school of their choice, and their tax dollars should follow their children by using school vouchers and private money.

K-12 education will focus on the “three Rs:” Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. Complex controversial social and moral issues have no place in the K-12 classroom.

When a child’s sexual education begins will be determined by the child's parents. The State will no longer have the right to teach our children what is morally correct. That responsibility rests with the child’s parents.

Right to Keep and Bear Arms

I believe in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Gun ownership is a right that will not be infringed.

National Defense

The Federal Government will do nothing to weaken the armed forces of the United States of America. I believe in a strong national defense.

This nation will honor and defend the friends and allies of this country and will honor past treaties.

Foreign aid to nations hostile to the United States will no longer be provided.

Taxation

We must dismantle the Internal Revenue Service and replace it with a flat tax or a federal sales tax or the Fair Tax. I also believe we should repeal the Sixteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

National Energy Resources

We will explore and exploit all natural resources of this nation wherever they occur. We will mine coal and drill for offshore oil in ecological sensitive areas if national interests call for it. If any business entity damages the ecology or economical interests of a region, they will be held completely responsible for all present and future damages.

Public Assistance

Welfare will only be available to those who truly need it. Those who can work will work. Those receiving welfare or any form of public assistance will pass random drug tests in order to continue receiving assistance.

Developers love Augusta and we have to move forward!!!

Rave #11... Augusta will offer shoppers many different types of upscale retailers similar to Dallas/Atlanta and continue emerging into a high tech hub like Raleigh/San Jose(smaller scale of course)in the future. The Augusta mall is a regional southeastern destination and one of the main reasons why Augusta is quickly becoming well known for great shopping among the smaller cities.

The Michael Kors recently opened in the mall and the boutiques stores haven't opened in South Carolina(outlet in Charleston and Bluftton) yet. The only boutique store located in the state of Tennessee is located in Nashville. The new two story H&M under construction is another great addition to the mall and many larger metros don't even have the retailer yet. The announcement for the Augusta mall was made even before the Charlotte(announced the second Charlotte location shortly after) location.

Thousands of additional people will begin to visit Augusta more frequently, because of the city turning into the one of the best small cities for shopping in the south.

1. The new Cabela's, movie theater including the full service restaurant/in theater dining, Costco, etc in North Richmond..
2. Whole Foods, DSW, & HomeGoods in West Augusta.
3. 69 acre development at Walton Way Ext/I-20 in West Augusta.
4. Existing Augusta Exchange, Augusta mall, and Surrey Center in West Augusta.

Three of the main things left to accomplish include attracting several different local boutiques and shops to the CBD, Summerville, and Midtown. The second one involves concentrating on the national retailers who normally locate in urban areas(Anthropologie, Gap, Urban Outfitters, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Free People, etc) to look at both the CBD and the Medical District. The last one consist of building the smaller type of Augusta Exchange shopping center located in South Augusta at I-520/Peach Orchard/Windsor Spring.

I think the shopping

I think the shopping opportunities at the Augusta Mall are fantastic. What I don't like is the nonsense rift raft especially on Friday and Saturday nights. With the addition of new stores and countyman's profession of more patronage, has anyone considered the horrible flow to the entrance and exit at the mall and also how is it going to handle the holiday parking. In the past cars have had to park along the grassy sides and with new popular stores comes new visitors and new visitors brings new vehicles, which brings added parking issues. It's horrible now trying to get out of the mall at Wrightsboro Rd, I hate to see it in the future if nothing is changed.

What ARC needs is more parking around the mall. Yes, there is too little and with the holiday season shopping it will get dangerous getting in and out! Countyman, why don't you suggest to them that they begin a shuttle service around the parking lots for the Season? Safety and security all in one! What they also need is to clean up the gateways and major intersections and roadways. Yesterday I ventured up the neverending construction section of Bobby Jones Expressway. (You"d think they could complete one stretch before beginning another!) At all the major intersections there is trash, small signs standing on the roadway right of way, ( yes this is illegal) and more cigarette butts than you could ever count. The traffic islands are unkempt and filled with weeds. GA DOT shares some of the blame in this, but it is in ARC's house.

We should learn what the past has proven *But* What has America learned from the past? NOTHING!

From Cgee's book of trivia=heh

IN CASE YOU DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW THIS LITTLE TIDBIT OF TRIVIA....

ON JULY 20, 1969, AS COMMANDER OF THE APOLLO 11 LUNAR MODULE, NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SET FOOT ON THE MOON.

HIS FIRST WORDS AFTER STEPPING ON THE MOON, "THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND," WERE TELEVISED TO EARTH AND HEARD BY MILLIONS.*

BUT JUST BEFORE HE RE-ENTERED THE LANDER, HE MADE THE ENIGMATIC REMARK -"GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY."

MANY PEOPLE AT NASA THOUGHT IT WAS A CASUAL REMARK CONCERNING SOME RIVAL SOVIET COSMONAUT. HOWEVER, UPON CHECKING, THERE WAS NO GORSKY IN EITHER THE RUSSIAN OR AMERICAN SPACE PROGRAMS .

OVER THE YEARS, MANY PEOPLE QUESTIONED ARMSTRONG AS TOWHAT THE - 'GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY' STATEMENT MEANT, BUT
ARMSTRONG ALWAYS JUST SMILED.

ON JULY 5, 1995, IN TAMPA BAY , FLORIDA , WHILE ANSWERING QUESTIONS FOLLOWING A SPEECH, A REPORTER BROUGHT UPTHE 26-YEAR-OLD QUESTION ABOUT Mr GORSKY TO ARMSTRONG.

THIS TIME HE FINALLY RESPONDED BECAUSE MR. GORSKY HAD DIED, SO NEIL ARMSTRONG FELT HE COULD NOW ANSWER THE QUESTION.
HERE IS THE ANSWER TO "WHO WAS MR GORSKY":

IN 1938, WHEN HE WAS A KID IN A SMALL MID-WESTERNTOWN , HE WAS PLAYING BASEBALL WITH A FRIEND IN THE BACKYARD. HIS FRIEND HIT THE BALL, WHICH LANDED IN HIS NEIGHBOR'S YARD BY THEIR BEDROOM WINDOW.

HIS NEIGHBORS WERE MR. AND MRS. GORSKY. AS HE LEANED DOWN TO PICK UP THE BALL, YOUNG ARMSTRONG HEARD MRS. GORSKY
SHOUTING AT MR. GORSKY,

"SEX! YOU WANT SEX?! YOU'LL GET SEX WHEN THE KID NEXT DOOR WALKS ON THE MOON!"

It broke the place up.

NEIL ARMSTRONG'S FAMILY CONFIRMED THIS IS A TRUE STORY.

The U.S. Congress

If you start with a cage containing five monkeys, and inside the cage hang a banana on a string from the top, and then you place a set of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.

As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the monkeys with cold water.

After a while another monkey makes an attempt with same result -- all the monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put the cold water away.

Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs. To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the crap out of him.

After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it with a new one.

The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment -- with enthusiasm -- because he is now part of the "team."

Then, replace a third original monkey with a new one, followed by the fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.

Now, the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, not one of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana.

Why, you ask? Because in their minds, that is the way it has always been!

This, my friends, is how the House and Senate operates... and this is why, from time to time:

ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME !

"He’s trying to sell

"He’s trying to sell immigration reform anyway he can. Truth does not come into it!"

From now until the time the White House door hit's Obama in the butt in 2017 all his opponents have to do is play a clip of the latest lie he is telling and follow it with a clip of "If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor."

Knuckleheads cannot be told anything so they have to learn the hard way. Obamacare is no longer a theoretical political argument between liberals and conservatives. People are just now starting to find out what big government intrusion and socialism feels like. Enjoy your Obamacare folks. It's going to work about as good as Obama's "green energy" $trillion he gave to his buddies and his Stimulus I and II which has given us fewer people working than any time since the 60's. It's just a fact....if his mouth is moving he is lying. Just another Democrat lying to push a socialist agenda that ALWAYS, yes ALWAYS, hurt the middle class. They never hurt the rich, and they rarely help the poor very much....but they ALWAYS hurt the middle class. And why is that? It's because, no matter what they tell you about the 1% they know that all of the TAXABLE money...the money that moves in the economy.....is in the MIDDLE CLASS....and that is why YOU, Mr. and Mrs. Middle Class, HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL OF THE MOOCHERS AND LEECHES.

"For some reason I feel I'm reading the same posts over & over..

....haven't we played this song before......blah blah blah blah...."

Very true.

How many "regular" posters are there? Twenty? Thirty? Forty?

It's the same people, expressing their same opinions, over and over, and over.

No minds are changed. No behavior is altered. Everybody already believes what they believe and everybody thinks they're right about everything.

One of the working definitions of insanity is "doing the same thing over and over, each time expecting a different result."

I don't expect a different result. I know my powers of persuasion aren't that great. I just have time to kill, sometimes, and I enjoy the mental gymnastics.

It's preventive maintenance, of sorts.....

You asked on the thread what I meant by "Detroit like politics". You went on to say the only similarity you saw was Democrats.

BINGO!

"BINGO!"

I think a fair minded person would agree some democrats are worse than others. As I said yesterday, most of Augusta's leading democrats aren't behind bars and Augusta doesn't have a long and infamous history of labor union corruption. So, I don't think that's a reasonable comparison.

I said yesterday and I'll say again today that no rational, reasonable comparison can be made between Detroit and Augusta. To make such a comparison is, in my opinion, a deliberate poke in the eye to citizens of Augusta, including downtown business owners, and produces no constructive result.

You have every right to have "fled" Richmond County. You also have every right to sensationalize and further antagonize the issue by using terms like "fled" instead of "moved from." That's up to you. I don't know where you live, but if I did I would NOT go out of my way to insult, or demean, that place.

You and Riverman (and any others) have the first amendment right to be as unkind and insulting as you choose when characterizing Augusta, but you do it with full knowledge that some people choose to live here, work here, and even invest their life savings here and, to them, the comments are neither helpful, nor appreciated.

That's my point.

A worried collection of Intel from around the world

VARIOUS INTEL REPORTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

U.S. Army warns Congress that it has only two brigades combat ready.

China NEWS reports Moral among the U.S. military is in tatters, especially among the higher-ranking officers.

UNIVISON - U.S. enforcement of border security has, for all intent and purpose, stopped. Foreign terrorists have been captured in Mexico trying to gain access to the USA. Based on current political issues, it is very unlikely that the United States will resume border security in the foreseeable future.

U.S. diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia have taken a tumble as Saudi Arabia objects to U.S. policies toward Iran as well as failing to support Saudi Arabia during recent uprisings.

Diplomatic fallout continues as many former U.S. allies express outrage over recent spying revelations.

Worldwide Public perception is extremely negative of its government direction. This places the United States Government in a difficult position as it continues to lose respect in the world and countries turn to other powers such as Russia and China.

Iran has announced plans for an additional 34 nuclear plants, mostly along the Gulf coast.

China has conducted a test of a maneuvering satellite that captured another satellite in space.

China continues to make significant strides in space-based, Mil-Net, and Internet based warfare, which is an enormous threat to the United States as the U.S. increasingly relies on these to coordinate its military assets.

China has also released plans for nuclear strikes on the United States, detailing planned targets and fatalities.

China has a spy ship to Hawaiian waters.

There is much more but you get the idea.

Many would say there are policy and directional issues that need to be addressed quickly.
