DEAR BUS DRIVERS: No one in the Richmond County School System has received a pay raise since Obama took office. Y’all need to go to D.C. to protest.

I AM SURE THAT the Richmond County Board of Elections’ new precinct plan that would mean a change of polling location for about 13,000 voters will not be popular. I can see the out-of-towners raising all sorts of reasons why the plan is unfair and will restrict the residents from voting. Let’s move on, Augusta, and adopt the plan.

I UNDERSTAND the need for fingerprinting your employees, but I would like to know why the Richmond County Board of Education is charging its employees. Where is the money going?

I AGREE THAT county employees deserve a bonus, but we can’t spend money we don’t have. City Administrator Fred Russell’s budget proposal shows an $8.5 million deficit, but includes giving $1500 bonuses to all employees. What is up with that? Budgets must start by paying the items that must be paid, and if there is money left after that, the things people want must be prioritized, with a stopping point when the money runs out. Stop spending money that isn’t there. Residents and small businesses must operate within this simple idea. Why is it so difficult for government entities to do this?

I APPLAUD the new law that will allow more children to undergo rehabilitation and remediation rather than face time in youth detention centers. Let’s use this law with a degree of caution, though, because we don’t want thugs and hoodlums freely roaming our streets when they should be behind bars.

I HOPE IT’S not too late when we wake up and realize that our government – all three branches – does not care about anything but itself. Forget for a second who is in charge; do you really feel like you or the country or the Constitution is in good hands? The government is getting more tax income than ever and spending even more – a trillion dollars more each of the past five years – and this is all we have to show for it? Our power-crazed representatives are living the high life and selling out to the highest bidder while the poverty and unemployment rates are soaring. Meanwhile, we call one another names and stand in line for the next handout.

I REALLY was disappointed to see that Malala Yousafzai did not get the Nobel Peace Prize. If anyone deserved it, she did. I don’t think that organizations should get this prize.

Episcopal Day School bought

Episcopal Day School bought the land behind my neighborhood for campus expansion. Right now, they're hosting a Halloween party for teens on that property.

We know this because we can hear the PA system in our homes. We've had Praise the Lords, hallelujahs and a wobbly rendition of Sweet Home Alabama.

Please consider lowering the volume for the next party.

(Yes,I tried the email address provided on their website, it doesn't exist.)

Not Simply Computer Glitches

The problems with the rollout are not simply computer problems. It's a massive mistake with ill thought out funding and effects.

Good Morning "@5" America

IMHO,I think the "allow more children to undergo rehabilitation and remediation rather than face time in youth detention centers" is a waste of time and money.

Our YDCA that we have in America is also a waste of time & money because of the PC way we run them. Most of the children we place in them are just finding and receiving a better home care environment than they have at home.

I just returned from a country that their YDCA was a place of higher learning, and when they graduated from them, they never attempted to enroll into a higher institution. Their return rate was less than .o1%.
They received the hard core "Spanking" that they never received when growing up.

Something in the air in DC

"Our power-crazed representatives are living the high life and selling out to the highest bidder while the poverty and unemployment rates are soaring."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do believe that once a politician is elected & he smells the air in DC his brain cells get charged with the feeling "What's in it for me"..all of them...they forget their "raising"...they forget where they came from....all common sense leaves the building..they get so much adoration & goofy looks from young women that they lose it!! Really, they do.
They have plastic surgery--hair implants--& enhance their looks in every way.......some are in their latter years but want to look like they are 35....soooo let's blame this on the young flozzies in DC....yeh, they are causing this mess....LOL

Richmond County fingerprinting

They are not the only system who charges for fingerprinting. If someone wants a job, is employable, and has nothing to hide then they should bear the cost of fingerprinting. How many employees are fingerprinted at a cost of $40+, spend a short time in the system and leave. That is a cost that eats into the budget. At my place of employment I wanted my job so I payed for the background check. It takes money to make money. I am sure the employees of Richmond County board of education would rather have their furloughs days back and prospective employees charged for background checks.

Maybe the feds should start doing background checks and drug test for government assistance.

Has America just had and attempted miltary coup

or just lost a few NUKE's?

It seems 2 Generals were suddenly fired
or demoted and parts of their Nuke strike wing transferred to South Carolina all at the same time.

"we don’t want thugs and

"we don’t want thugs and hoodlums freely roaming our streets when they should be behind bars."

Well, we've supposedly been locking some of them up and we still have lots of thugs and hoodlums roaming freely. So my guess is that since we are going to lock up fewer of them we will have MORE of them roaming the streets......safe in the knowledge that THEY NEED NOT FEAR BEING LOCKED UP......EMBOLDENED TO DO THE CRIME AND "TAKE THEIR CHANCES" with the "it's for the children" juvenile UNjustice system.

I'm sorry folks, you are living in la-la land. The 14 year old criminals today are committing the same crimes as 25, 30, and 40 year old criminals. They are using guns, knives, and baseball bats to rob, beat, kill, and maim. The break into people's houses and cars, rob them on the street corners, stick up mini-marts just like the "big boys" do. You can believe all of that drivel about "young brains not fully developed" if you want but it doesn't mean a damned thing if a 14 year pops a cap on your butt. If it is true that the young brain cannot reason then the only thing it understands is the fear of being punished and NOW WE HAVE TAKEN THAT OFF OF THE TABLE. Change the laws back and lock them up. Forty years ago they were 14 year old juveniles.

Today they are 14 year old armed and dangerous repeat offender criminals who know more about crime, guns, sex, drugs, and the failed justice system than you will EVER know. Times have changed and the laws need to be updated to take that into account. THEY ARE NOT INNOCENT JUVENILES WHO JUST HAPPENED TO MAKE A BAD DECISION. THEY ARE FULL BLOWN CRIMINALS WHO CONCEIVE AND CONSUMMATE ACTS OF THEFT AND VIOLENCE.

Our penal system doesn't

Our penal system doesn't work. We have tax payers being robbed or killed reducing their capacity to provide taxes. Criminals then end up being a burden on the tax payer in the penal system, and then in prison it just teaches them to be better criminals. Rather than just build a better criminal we need to turn them into tax paying citizens. Criminals should be responsible to "pay back" for their crimes=that way they learn some skill and get a job rather than a life of crime.

Everybody needs to listen to C-SPAN. It is painfully clear that NOBODY knows what is going on with Obamacare. What a mess. Even democrats are starting to question it.

If they give the Nobel

to Miley or her tongue she will have done more to earn it than Obama. A peace prize recipient who merely got elected. Has maintained the middle east conflict, drone attacks in Pakistan, authorized the use of drone attacks on Americans, didn't close Gitmo, wanted to bomb Syria, did nothing to help the embassy workers in Libya, assisted in the overthrow of the Egyptian and Libyan governments and lastly Fast and Furious...but hey...what difference does that make now?

All the Nobel Peace Prize

All the Nobel Peace Prize winners had years to a lifetime of efforts being recognized. Obama was in office 8 months-hadn't even learned the light switches in the WH yet-before being given this prize. Doubtful he had much time to even address a lot of diplomacy-which is what he was given the prize.

SIB4 - Have seen too many political firings

not to understand that press releases always tend to present the side of the boss and if the fired person is quiet then 1 of 2 is happening.

A. Guilty as hell
and/or
B. has a Golden Parachute and could careless.

eg. The IRS Director that spied on and went after TEA PARTY and non-Obama Political groups. Then was allowed to retire after taking the 5th.

The other thing I have learned
is the more they try to discredit the source, the more likely the source has damming info.
