Raccoon tests positive for rabies in Aiken

A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Aiken.

On Sunday, a sick raccoon was captured in the area of Northwood Drive, according to Aiken Public Safety Department.

Individuals that come in contact with rabid animals should contact the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

No other information was provided.
