Fort Gordon will hold Retiree Appreciation Day on Saturday to provide senior citizens, military veterans and eligible family members with health screenings and information on survivor benefits, casualty assistance and powers of attorney.

Registration will start at 7:15 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 8 a.m. in Darling Hall at the corner of Chamberlain Avenue and Rice Road. Booths, exhibits and seminars will continue until noon. There will be information tables and representatives to tell retirees about health and wellness techniques and updates to entitlements.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center and Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center will provide oral screenings, blood pressure checks, flu shots, and EKG and cataract exams.

The post’s judge advocate general will answer questions about powers of attorney.

The event will close with a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. in the Gordon Conference Center, with information briefings by Cols. Samuel Anderson and John Lamoureux, the garrison and Eisenhower commanders.
