COLUMBUS, Ga. -- If you ever longingly looked through a classroom window and gazed upon a delightful day that beckoned you outside, then Len McWilliams is your kind of principal.
According to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, Calvary Christian School will be closed Friday as McWilliams, the headmaster, fulfills the commitment he made to himself: find a positive reason to cancel classes before he retires at the end of this school year.
“In the late 1980s, I was calling school off one winter day because of the terrible weather,” he said. “The thought occurred to me that it would be great to call school off some day because it was too beautiful a day to go to school.”
Friday’s forecast calls for wonderful weather in the west Georgia city.
