Rants & Raves

GEORGIA REGENTS University, have you never heard of patient privacy? Why is there a picture of a visitor in the Emergency Department on the front page of the newspaper taking a picture?

PLEASE EXPLAIN TO me how the TV show Breaking Bad, which clearly shows the making and distribution of methamphetamines, wins an Emmy Award, yet daily lives and families are destroyed by this illegal drug. Wake up, America.

WE HAVE SOME busybodies here in Harlem trying to mind everyone’s business. Why don’t they clean around their own doors and leave everybody else’s alone? You can’t do anything out here in the projects. Leave the poor people alone.

THE REAL DEMOCRATIC Party died with the advent of George McGovern. The Republicans died with Bush 1. Now they all just look out for themselves. What we need now to fight both of these is a pro-American, Put-America-First Party. Any supporters?

YOU CAN TELL fall has arrived early by the Edgefield County, S.C., residents who burn leaf piles for the entire community to breathe including our kids and many others with asthma-related conditions. A nice wood fire is enjoyable, but leaves only are the pits and infringe on everyone’s health.

A GOVERNMENT shutdown will reveal to the taxpayers what federal programs/spending can be eliminated and what should continue to be funded. With $17 trillion in debt, we are in deep trouble; we are beyond broke. “Obamacare” will be a disaster. Let it go into full effect before the 2014 off-year elections. Once the full effects of this is felt, the fools in Congress who voted for it will be beaten at the polls.

THE AIKEN LIBRARY is so dirty I won’t let my kids sit on the floor. I can’t let them use the bathroom because most of the time there are no paper towels or toilet paper and no soap to wash their hands.

HUGE RAVE TO the honest person who found my checkbook in Regal theater and turned it in. I had a couple of old memento items that meant a lot. My faith in fellow man was restored for this year; thanks again.

RANT TO THE person who was complaining about not being asked to say a prayer at a graveside funeral. Where were you while this person was dying? Did you ask to be on the program? Don’t blame the family; they have enough to deal with months after the person has passed.

We no longer have a 2 party system

We have 30 or 40 sub parties fighting against each other with
the America caught in the middle.

On 1 side we have the Dim-wits made up of a collection SIG's and
PAC's on the other RINO's. What we have is a collection of SIG's and PAC's pulling in 40 opposite directions.

Personally, I vote conservative / Tea party choices. Because they stand for small leaner government with limit intrusion in our personal lives.

I will continue vote Tea Party selections, until I determine they have been infiltrated and co-opted like both of the 2 main parties had been in the 1970's and 80's.

The Federal Gov. focus needs to be on America.
NOT our morals, and our home lives. Its focus needs to be solely on its duties spelled out in the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Because Fools will be fools and idiots will be idiots.
Let the states sort out the fools and idiots. Within the limits of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Because I surely do not want ANY Politician telling me how to live my live after looking at how they live theirs.

BTW: US Budgets should set at the previous years revenue minus 15% to pay down and hopefully pay off the National debt.

On a less serious Note

Saw the Big Bertha tow truck, towing one of those Natural Gas Trash trucks up Hwy56 Hill and likely over to the NG Stations for a fill up.

But they sure seem to break down a lot or at least when I happen by.

BTW: SBi4 - one less Hog to worry about

My Son up in Metro-Atlanta, bagged a 110Lbs,with about 45lbs dressed out and worth eating.

Because he does not have a Chess freezer, his Fire station will have a BBQ roast to end all roasts very soon.

I'm sure they are less reliable than diesels. But those green tree frogs painted on the sides are sure cute!

Movie theaters in the metro

#8.... The majority of people living here are good people, but too often the media gives the criminals all the spotlight. The person mentioned the movie theater in the Augusta Exchange(largest in the metro at 80k SQ. FT.) area of West Augusta. The new 60k SQ. FT. theater(second largest) at the Village at Riverwatch in North Richmond is the next to open in the metro/CSRA.. The next theater will probably choose either South Augusta(apart of the new large power center or announced sometime after) or maybe the CBD.

The CBD might attract something in the future once all the proposals become reality. The latest involves a company bringing 400 jobs, and the Hyatt Place finally beginning construction.

Huh?

Countyman's link was interesting. There is a company somewhere in Richmond County that local government is trying to get to move to the downtown area. It seems strange to have government encouraging a business to move from one area of the county to another. What about the area losing the 400 people? Is this more of the same of the rape and pillaging of the county by the downtown area? This needs some explaining.

Demographics Again.

The demographics of an area determine the success of a movie theater. If the movie goers are well off, well behaved people, the theater will do well. As KSL implies, no one wants to be sitting around with jerks.

For JTF :)

One day, a man came home and was greeted by his wife dressed in a very Sexy nightie. 'Tie me up,' she purred, 'and you can do anything you want.' So he tied her up and went golfing.

Not understanding the logic here

"I feel pretty comfortable at the moment that we have a good project going. But you know, it's like smoke and mirrors, sometimes they disappear as fast they come on the horizon," he says.

And on Tuesday night, Matthew Kwatinetz also talked about the possibility of more jobs in the downtown area.

"We're trying to retain a business from Richmond County, to stay in Richmond County and move downtown. And that might involve as many as 400 jobs moving into the downtown area," Kwatinetz says.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Trying to retain jobs that are in Richmond county already?? You are not adding jobs...just moving from one location to another....are they leaving for another county?? Make sense out of this confusing info.

Harlem busybodies

That is small town living, period. The positive side is that with everyone knowing everyone else, there is a sense of community you don't have in the "big city". People watch out for each others properties, children, etc.
It isn't all bad.

Even nuns have jokes :)

Mother Superior called all the nuns together and said to them, 'I must tell you all something. We have a case of gonorrhea in the convent.' 'Thank God,' said an elderly nun at the back. 'I'm so tired of chardonay.

Nun jokes?

Nun enters a convent that allows the Nuns to say two words a year. First year the Nun goes to the Mother Superior and says "bad food". The next year she goes and says "too cold". Year 3 she goes and say "hard bed". The 4th year she goes and says "want out". Mother Superior says, "I am not surprised. All you have done since you got here is complain".

Rant about gov. shut-down

"A GOVERNMENT shutdown will reveal to the taxpayers what federal programs/spending can be eliminated and what should continue to be funded. I agree with this rant almost intirely. I believe that Obamacare should be allowed to "fly" ASAP! I believe that it is going to cost tax-payers more than is being projected. I agree that many, if not all, US Reps. and Senators should be voted out of office. I WILL GO ONE step further on one issue. The US military budget is way out of control! I don't think ANYONE is keeping an eye on these armiments suppliers. ALSO, IT IS A SHAME when the military budget WILL NOT fund, 100%, of the needs of The Veterans' Affairs Dept.! These wunded troops need to be put at the head of the line when THE VERY FIRST military spending dollar rolls of the press!!!!

"The next theater will probably choose either South Augusta(apart of the new large power center......."

Yeh......it will be right beside the Five Guys. There aren't any movie theaters in the "downtown" low income areas now and, since you are Section 8ing those people to South Augusta, I really don't see the movie theaters chasing the food stamp crowd.

I can flat out tell you right now that with the crowd YOU are using taxpayer dollars to relocate out this way that even if they did build a theater out here I would not take my family to it. Can't get my wife to wear Kevlar.

All Over Again

Wisdom from Countyman:

The CBD might attract something in the future once all the proposals become reality.

All of the proposals will never become reality.

The next theater will probably choose either South Augusta (part of the new large power center or announced sometime after) or maybe the CBD.

What does he mean by “new large power center”? Is he talking about Plant Vogtle?

Speaking of movie theaters downtown; did you know there already exists a movie theater downtown? It is called The Paul Simon Theater and it is located in the Fort Discovery portion of Port Royal. I last saw "From Here to Eternity" there.
