SRS advisory board cancels Oct. 8 committee meetings

Because of the government shutdown, Savannah River Site’s Citizens Advisory Board canceled next Tuesday’s scheduled meetings of its Facilities Disposition & Site Remediation and the Strategic & Legacy Management committees.

“When possible, every effort will be made to reschedule these meetings,” the group said in its notice.

Also, the board said is remains uncertain whether the Oct. 22 meetings of other committees will be held.

The reorganization/restructuring of SRR, along with the Federal shutdown, makes the discussion of upcoming work speculative, at best. Every sentence would have to start, "If funding is restored, then..."
