Arts in Heart winners announced

The annual Arts in the Heart festival continues until 7 p.m. today.

On Saturday, separate panels of judges conferred to decide which ethnic booths and which artists or artisans presented the best products.

The winners of the Global Village Food Contest were:


Best Entree: Jamaica

Best Dessert: India

Best Side Dish: Bulgaria

Best Plate: Laos

Best Booth Presentation: India

Judges Award 1: Turkey

Judges Award 2: Guam


The winners of the Fine Arts and Crafts Market were:

1st Place - $500 winner: Jeannie Maddox, booth 805

2nd Place - $400 winner: Chris Mason, booth 859

3rd Place - $300 winner: Georgette Sanders, booth 855

Award of Merit - $100 winner: Caroline Sandlin, booth 816

Award of Merit - $100 winner: Jenn Ells, booth 801

Award of Merit - $100 winner: Wild Hare Pottery by David Stuart, booth 811
