Golden Living Center of Augusta to host senior week walk, activities

Golden Living Center of Augusta will kick off Active Aging Week today with a senior wellness walk, health food demonstrations, a farmer’s market and jazz music.

Senior residents of Golden Living will walk for up to 30 minutes with therapists from Aegis Therapies, according to a news release. After the walk, Golden Living’s director of dining and hospitality will make smoothies and a salad for participants.

The walk begins at 2 p.m. at Golden Living, 1600 Anthony Road. The farmer’s market and music follows at 2:30 p.m., and the food presentation at 3 p.m.

Volunteers and community members are invited to join residents for the event.

Throughout the week, Aegis Therapies will sponsor walking and wellness activities at more than 650 registered communities across the nation.
