A motorcycle-truck collision Thursday in Aiken County killed a 59-year-old Beech Island man.

Daniel Favors was riding his 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with his wife, Kathy Favors, on Huber Clay Road in Langley when he collided with a 2005 Chevrolet truck driven by Marshall White Sr., of Bath. The crash occurred near the Aiken County Landfill about 4:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Bob Beres, of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

According to witnesses, the Favorses were riding their motorcycle toward Pine Log Road when White, who had pulled onto the right shoulder, attempted a U-turn because he missed the entrance to the landfill.

White’s wife was a passenger in the truck, said Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.

All four were taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center, where Daniel Favors was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His wife was in serious condition, said Christen Carter, a hospital spokeswoman.

The condition of the Whites, who were wearing seat belts, was not available.
