  • Follow Metro

The Mangelly Accordion Band will play at Augusta Museum of History on Sunday in honor of Grandparents Day.

In addition to performances by the Big Kids Accordion Band, band member Gene McGinty will honor his great-grandfather with a special tune. McGinty’s great-grandfather worked as an engineer on locomotive No. 302, which is displayed in the museum.

The free performance will be at 2 p.m. in the museum’s rotunda.

Man, I can't wait! I love

Man, I can't wait! I love good old accordion music. I remember back in the good old days when we would walk five miles down a dusty dirt road to our nearest neighbor on Saturday night to listen to the Big Band Orchestras on the old tube type AM radio. When are they going to have a Kazoo band come to town?
