Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

HERE’S A RAVE for the man driving the black truck on North Belair Road this evening during rush hour. Thank you so much for letting me in. I know this must have been hard for you to do since you were driving with one hand on the steering wheel because your other hand only had one finger on it!

DID YOU KNOW that President Obama added another dog to his household? The taxpayers currently pay a dog attendant $102,000 a year to take care of the first dog because the first lady and the two daughters are too busy to feed and walk the current dog.

THE AIKEN COUNTY library is not a safe place to leave your children.

WHY IS AUGUSTA Regional Airport going to buy a new fire truck to fight building fire? Doesn’t the county have a fire station a mile from the airport? Waste of tax dollars.

RAVE TO Augusta Cares. I e-mailed them with a concern about the six foot overgrowth along Oates Creek in Turpin Hill and crews came out and took care of the problem. Martha, you rock!

RANT TO WHOEVER stole my camper from Skinner Mill Self Storage. You not only took away my family time at the lake, but you took away something my father left me which meant the world to me and cannot be replaced. I just hope you are found and what goes around comes around!!! If anyone knows anything about this, please contact Skinner Mill Self Storage and they will have my contact information.

TRAYVON MARTIN’S murder was brutal as well. So Oprah and the rest of us civilized people are quite correct to make certain to properly refer to his murder by Zimmerman as disgusting and any other negative terms or comparison that we make.

THE NEW HEALTH CARE laws are primarily needed by those who don’t have insurance. So if the Congress people have insurance, why do they need to be pushed to have to buy other insurance? First, you get the uninsured people covered.

T3--hold my hand the real world is calling you

Hold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know youre not alone
Cause Im going to make this place your home

Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Calling you home....:)

The purpose of The Affordable Care Act (I can't even say that with a straight face) is to force the working class to pay for the non-working class to have insurance. My premiums have skyrocketed since this farce was set in motion. Higher premiums, deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket. And it's only going to go higher. So, who is the The Affordable Care Act (again, I laugh) going to be affordable for?

Now now RM.....you apparently haven't smoked a cigarette lately. With those "anti-smolder" bands they are putting in the paper, you can't keep the damned things lit long enough to get a decent puff, much less start a fire with one.

People continue to harp about the Zimmerman case, how sad.

All that built up anger and look what it's doing to the young crowd,
think about what you are teaching them.

Narcissist in Chief

In today’s Chronicle print edition, page 3A, is a story about the proposed Congressional resolution being long and open ended:

By Michael Doyle
McClatchy Washington Bureau

WASHINGTON — While President Obama says he wants only a limited air attack on Syria, his proposed authorization of force would empower him to do much more than that. The substantive part of Obama’s proposal contains 172 words. That’s significantly longer than either the 1964 Tonkin Gulf Resolution authorizing the Viet Nam War or the 2001 resolution authorizing retaliation for the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, two measures that later became notorious for how aggressively presidents used them.

Wow! Can you believe this guy? We already knew he loves to hear the sound of his own voice (he gave the Queen of England an I-Pod loaded with nothing but his speeches); and now we see that when he told his handlers to write the resolution, he made sure his would be longer than anyone else’s. Vanity, all is vanity.

Open Ended

Here is some more from the McClatchy story:

The proposed resolution would give Obama approval to use the military as he “determines to be necessary and appropriate in connection with the use of chemical weapons or other weapons of mass destruction in the conflict in Syria.” Specifically, the president could act to “prevent or deter the use or proliferation” of the weapons or to “protect the United States and its allies and partners” from the weapons.

The proposed authorization does not include an end date, noted University of Texas Law School professor Robert Chesney. He suggested that “if the administration is serious about wanting to act in such a truly narrow, time-limited way,” then such a sunset measure could be useful.

Obama’s proposed authorization would also allow military action to stop the “transfer to terrorist groups or other state or non-state actors” of the designated weapons. This includes actions involving weapons transfers “within, to or from Syria,” which could extend authority to act well outside Syria.

We've already been told that Syria is spiriting as many of the canisters as it can to Iran. Does anyone here want to start a war with Iran anytime soon?

Premeditated murder...

I guess there are some who actually think that Zimmerman woke up that fateful day and thought, "hmm, I think I'll kill someone today", and then sought out Treyvon. Either that, or they have no earthly idea what premeditated murder is. Those words are getting as worn out as the word "racist". If you don't know the meaning of a word and you can't properly use it in conversation, maybe you should educate yourself. Otherwise, you make yourself look ignorant (I hope people know the meaning of that word.)

He Doesn’t Care

Here is some more from the McClatchy story:

The authorization does not necessarily address international legal requirements. “Unfortunately, the president’s draft (authorization) states a violation of international law in every line,” said Mary Ellen O’Connell, a University of Notre Dame law professor. “Resort to military force is not permitted to punish the use of banned weapons, to address arms proliferation or to respond to vague threats in the United States.” National self-defense or actions explicitly authorized by the U.N. Security Council are the only kinds of military action acceptable under international law, O’Connell said.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Obama blatantly ignores U.S. law. It’s not a stretch for him to ignore international law, either. Everything is about himself and his goals to drag this country further down into an economic quagmire.

t3 the troll...."WELL

t3 the troll...."WELL STATED!! I will ALWAYS be convinced that it was premeditated murder!!"

Okay, I'll bite.

Well, the facts and the jury said otherwise. But NO MATTER. Even if it was, we are still down 3 to 1 and are currently due two more freebies to get even for the old man sitting in his car at the bowling alley, the baby in Savannah, and the Aussie teen in OK.......all of which were racially motivated crimes with total silence from the media and the black "boo hoo Trayvon" community.

What the black community is really upset about is that a jury confirmed that it is NOT a crime to keep a suspicious person in sight and it is NOT a crime to defend yourself when physically attacked.......and that hits way too close to home about how they are raising their kids and allowing them to act when they get to be teens.

t3....."what the purpose of

t3....."what the purpose of The Affordable Care Act truly is all about!!"

Yeh, explain to me what it is all about. Is it all about the 30 million of the original 45 million that still will not be covered. Is it about healthcare premiums for private insurance doubling and tripling. Is it about doctors retiring. Is it about employers cutting jobs and working hours to part time. It is a disaster...regardless of "what it is all about"......IT FAILED.

We HAD 85% of the country with GREAT healthcare and 15% with no healthcare, a large percentage of which had no healthcare BY CHOICE.

After Obamacare we will have most of the 85% with WORSE healthcare, some of the 85% with NO healthcare, 5% of the people will be covered by Obamacare, and 10% WILL STILL NOT HAVE ANY HEALTHCARE......and MANY of the 85% will not have a job or will become part time employees.

Yeh, great plan Democrats. 'Bout as good as your Mideast foreign policy and your green energy money pit crap.

"TRAYVON MARTIN’S murder was brutal

as well."

Another uninformed Kool-aid drinker who doesn't want to acknowledge that Treyvon got exactly what he deserved!

He was an unprincipled, anti-social thug who ambushed and assaulted what he "thought" was an unarmed, out-of-shape white man.

No way to tell how many other such crimes he had committed before Zimmerman had to defend himself.

If you look up the ingredients for "Lean" sometimes referred to as a poor man's meth, you'll see that what little Trayvon had purchased that night were two of the three basic components.

Add that to the fact that a residue of pot was found in his bloodstream and you will realize that Trayvon Martin was on track for death and destruction long before he maliciously attacked Zimmerman.

I agree with your comments with one possible correction. George Zimmerman is not an "out of shape white man". He is of missed race, Caucasian and Hispanic; just as our president is of missed race. Zimmerman is just a white as Obama.
