Teen's leg run over when he slips while crossing road

A Grovetown teen’s lower leg was run over by a vehicle when he fell while trying to cross Harlem-Grovetown Road on Tuesday.

Pablo Angel Lopez, 13, was crossing the road at Old Berzelia Road with a friend just before 3 p.m. The pair crossed the eastbound lane and stopped in the center of the road, where Pablo apparently slipped on some gravel, extending his leg into traffic.

A westbound GMC Jimmy, driven by Brandon Hutto, of Martinez, ran over Pablo’s foot or ankle, Rambo said.

The teen was taken to the Georgia Regents Medical Center.
