Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

WHAT’S THE PURPOSE of a college consolidation if the two campuses are continuing to act as separate schools? The mandatory fees should be the same for all students, unless they’re half-time or distance learning students. Get your act together, Georgia Regents University; you’re creating a Despicable Me.

I HAVE A RANT concerning the NRA. Why is it implementing a fund to acquire George Zimmerman a weapon, since his weapon in the case is forgoing further examination and will be returned to him at a later date? I heard rants that a Zimmerman trial is not about race. If it really wants to be unbiased, why doesn’t the NRA raise money to give adult black males 18-21 weapons, so they do not end up like Trayvon Martin? Where are the Second Amendment rights for them?

I HOPE THAT WHEN President Obama goes on the road to explain his economic message, he states how he is going to help Georgia, which has suffered more than most states and is still hundreds of thousands of jobs below its prerecession levels. To make matters worse, Georgia’s recipients of food stamps make it the sixth-highest in the nation. Mr. President, we need your help!

AS IN WESTERNS when the cowboys would check their guns at the door, so should people with phones attending a movie theater. It is so annoying and distracting to see phone screens light up all over the theater. Either come to watch the movie or stay home and watch your phone.

RANT TO THE Richmond County Board of Education: Get rid of Frank Robertson and hire within (Spivey) and save money for teachers and no more furlough days.

IF SKIN COLOR HAS bearing in a court of law, then the scales of justice have not tipped – they have toppled.

THANK YOU, WAL-MART North Augusta, for providing the handicapped with electric carts, and then hang a sign telling them not to take them outside and for the pipe that you added to the cart so it won’t go out the door.

RANT FOR TRACY Williams on his letter: What we do now? How about ending the 73 percent out-of-wedlock births. How about black fathers supporting their kids instead of us hard-working, taxpaying citizens. We are tired of it. As long as they are raised with the behavior they have now, they will be incarcerated or shot down in the streets as they are doing all over this country.

I see some people can't still let it go.

It is time to give it a rest and read the facts before anyone posts another TM&GZ RANT.

Too many of these alleged Ranted facts posted here have been proven over and over to be false by a Court of Law and 3 different investigations. Including the FBI when this started over a year ago, just before RE-ELECTION.

NOTE: As I have said before and will continue to say.
It seems our media and DOJ are working overtime to keep the settled TM & GZ case alive, by hook or by crook, for some reason.

Wal-Mart rant

Why, do you suppose; they don't want the carts to go outside? Do you think it just might be because hoodlums would steal them? At a minimum; the shoppers who are too darned sorry to put a cart in a corral certainly won't take a scooter back inside. Heaven forbid their lazy, sorry behinds have to walk another 20 steps.

Walmart and wheelchairs and Electric carts

North Augusta store no longer even has older Push Wheel Chairs.
A worker told me they quit replacing them because so many grew legs.

The Thieves quickly learned the electric carts are worth around $2500 new. Stripped the copper, batteries and etc. bring good $$$$$ either as scrap or as yard sale / flea market items.

Some people were even too lazy to walk I was told some are found at other stores down the road or where the battery finally died on a sidewalk.

I agree if you can walk in the store to get in a cart, then why not the return trip also? Be happy you don't have to supply your own.

BTW: When will Walmart start enforcing the proper use of the carts?
I have kids and teens using them in several stores now. Or maybe they all had HIDDEN problems?

Gee, could it be

... George Zimmerman AND HIS FAMILY are receiving on average 400 death threats an hour and postings by domestic terrorists and vigilantes like the repeated poster on this venue? More tests? Typical lying liberal sore loser lawyer-talk; they just want him unarmed.

Today's cops acting badly

... and doing something that would end us subjects of the occupation in jail, but deputy on paid leave --aka: Vacation. One commenter may be right, cops LIVE to screw over people, that's why they become cops.

(Even if they have to spend a couple of grand and work for free.)

Why camera phones are vital when cops are around:

Yet another incident of a lying cop (redundant, I know) arresting the innocent and charging them with assault. The police response when caught on video, "'At this time there have been no reports filed with this agency depicting the incident that was captured on this video. The agency encourages both of the individuals arrested to come forward and file police reports regarding the altercation that took place prior to our arrival on scene. 'Incidents received by this agency will be given the professional and thorough attention that is deemed necessary."

All that to say cover-up. Where's the President on this? Oh, that's right, the victim is white. No harm, no foul.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2384767/Bouncer-finally-arrested...

This is why cops hate citizens with cameraphones, and try to bust them.

Sometimes wealthy folks just settle

SAVANNAH, Ga. — A New York man charged with trying to extort $200,000 from embattled celebrity cook Paula Deen has agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors, according to federal court records.

Prosecutors filed a notice in U.S. District Court in Savannah last Wednesday saying 62-year-old Thomas George Paculis "has signed his plea agreement." A change-of-plea hearing was scheduled Friday afternoon before Judge William T. Moore Jr. No details of the agreement were given in the court filings.

Sometimes the homeowner wins.

LITHONIA, Ga. - A 21-year-old man shot two teenagers allegedly trying to enter his home in DeKalb County on Monday, according to police.

Authorities said three teenagers went to a home on Donna Way in Lithonia with plans to break in. A 15-year-old and a 14-year-old knocked on the door. When no one answered, police say they went to the back and broke in.

That's when the two teens came face to face with the homeowner, who fire at them.

The injured teens ran out of the house and down the road.

Larry Turner said he saw them in a cul-de-sac and called 911.

"They were pretty bad. One had lacerations down his arm, his shirt was torn," Turner said. "He was losing a lot of blood."

Authorities said a third teen, who had been in a getaway car, also ran. That 15-year-old was caught by police a few blocks later. The vehicle had been reported stolen on Sunday in DeKalb County, FOX 5's Denise Dillon reports.

The injured teens were taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. Their conditions were not immediately known.

Neighbors said that the home had been burglarized before.

Not so fast, milady! Only if the perps were white; otherwise the president and the press (and certain posters on this forum) will call for his blood because the homeowner, "callously lured them into commiting the crime by restocking after the last burglary."

#6 Maybe they should not be doing as many crimes as they do.
#7 The carts are for use inside the store. Who would bring them back after you leave them outside in the rain and sun to be destroyed. Walmart is not even responsible for your transporation around the store muchless outside.
#8 So true. I am so tired of supporting others. Just got a bonus this year and almost 40% gone and I am sure alot to take care of these people.

"Either come to watch the movie or stay home"

Using cell phones during a movie is just another symptom of the generally obnoxious behavior in the movie theaters and everywhere else nowadays. I've pretty much quit going to the movies unless it is one I just HAVE to see.....and based on the quality of movies lately that's averaging out to about 1 every 2 years.....and then I will only go to a weekday afternoon showing when there is nobody under age 50 in the audience. We live in a crude, vulgar time. I'm so glad I came up in the 50s and 60s when loving, caring parents popped the pee out of misbehaving and inconsiderate children and teens. Of course nowadays the kids would just shoot the parents, tell the police the parents were abusing them, and head on out to the Mall to hook up for the evening.

SBIB4 - the Lady shooter in Lithonia.

Would love to get her address and what caliber she uses?
I'd like send her a box of Ammo, or have my son who works in DeKalb, when he gets off duty, drop one off.

It is nice to see someone using ammo for good reasons.

dichotomy - brings up a point

In the last few days I have witnessed unusual amounts gutter mouths of all walks of life here in ARC . Has the use of profanity become so common place that it is now public acceptable talk?

But it seems people on the cell phone are the worst of the lot.

I have had to listen men and women, on phones in various restaurants and public places reciting the profanity dictionary.

A few, I have had to remind that their words were loud enough to be heard by others and inappropriate and unwanted. Some have told me to move If I don't like it and continued on gutter talking sometimes louder.

Some I have spoken with a manger about, which in too many cases refused to address, citing the 1st Amendment. Then times I have pretended to call 911 to report disorderly conduct in front of either manager or the person with greater success.

What has happen to ARC or the general public for that matter? Am I that outdated to still believe in civility, manners and how to talk around women and kids?

Using uncouth language is a

Using uncouth language is a sign a society is deteriorating. Higher caliber people make it a point to use appropriate language while those cursing in public totally disrespect the people around them. Decide whether you're a barbarian coming over the wall or a citizen who respects others and contributes to society.

People (probably like you!) leave those Handicapped carts OUTSIDE in the rain! Then, the very next day or, morning, the seat on said cart(s) is full of rainwater!.. Secondly, and I happen to have a LEGAL Handicapped Parking Tag, leaving grocery "buggies," as they're called around here, when in reality they are grocery CARTS, left all over the parking spaces to scratch and/or dent people's vehicles, is facetious, the SAME as your Rant! Take the Carts, Buggies and/pr electric Handicapped scooters BACK inside!

Not sure what you're talking about with the NRA, but Zimmerman already has another firearm!! Didn't you see the video of him being pulled over recently in Texas, he told the officer he had a firearm in the glove compartment. Zimmerman certainly fled to the right place to have a firearm and protect yourself. LOVE Texas's laws!!!
