A Warrenville man died Monday morning when he lost control of his vehicle.

Wayne Ford, 55, was driving a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck east on Piney Heights Road in Langley, S.C. As he rounded a curve near Cato Road at 7:04 a.m., he left the road, over-corrected the truck and crossed into the westbound lane before hitting an embankment, said Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.

Ford, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck and died at the scene, Carlton said. He was driving faster than the posted 45 miles per hour speed limit.

A toxicology test is pending.

The death was the 19th traffic fatality in Aiken County this year.

God bless

Mr. Ford's soul. Not wearing a seatbelt, at any age, is just plain deadly.
