The recent rainfall in the Augusta area has smashed a record that stood for almost 109 years.

Sunday marked the 15th consecutive day that Augusta Regional Airport has received at least a trace of rain. National Weather Service meteorologist Whitney Rushing said the Augusta area had a previous record of 12 days, from July 31 to Aug. 11, 1904.

Rushing said the streak could continue Monday, where there is a 60 percent chance of showers.

Bewildered

I seem to remember a Spring / Summer around 1970 of 20+ days of rain here in a Augusta and the song IT'S A RAINY NIGHT IN GA, being played a lot on BBQ.
