After enduring pounding rain for most of the week, the Augusta area caught a bit of a break Friday.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Michael Cammarata said Augusta Regional Airport received only .56 inch of rain in a 24-hour period Friday. Nearby Daniel Field received even less – .42 inch.

There were no weather advisories as of Friday night, but rain is expected to make a weekend return.

“We expect (the showers) to continue tomorrow,” he said. “It will most likely take the form of scattered showers throughout the day.”

Saturday afternoon has a 60 to 70 percent chance of showers. Sunday has only a 45 percent chance of rain.

I think the flooding occurred because of the new ADA-compliant crosswalks they put there last winter. They totally mess up the stormwater flow.

ADD TO THIS

Just got a call from my Brother-in-law
MIMS Rd. in Hephzibah by the Lake and trailer park is closing or now closed.

The roadways asphalt is being washed out by the overflowing lake.
Plus there is a matter of a large tree falling in the next minute or so.

Just tired of people who are so into themselves that they don't care enough (or know enough) to write so as to make it easily readable for the reader.

SeenitB4, I would offer that someone who posts as many times as you do EVERY DAY is someone who really needs to get over HERSELF.

Augustaisdying, for someone

Augustaisdying, for someone who created a screen name a day ago, you've been posting a good bit yourself. Plus, you seem to know a lot about how others comment in an amazingly short time. Seenit is pretty funny, you not so much. By the way, I noticed you spelled debacle as debaucle yesterday. No big deal, but it does show none are infallible with typos, etc.
