Inspectors from code enforcement and the fire and health departments went to Parkway Inn at 2852 Washington Road on Tuesday and closed about half of the rooms because of their condition.

Pam Costabile, the division manager of code enforcement, said officials determined Thursday that the entire hotel should be
closed until repairs can be made.

Inspectors discovered mold, holes in walls, leaking ceilings, furniture and mattresses in disrepair and a lack of smoke detectors.

Costabile said one of the main problems is the roof, where leaks have caused mold that might have moved into the duct system.

The rooms that had guests will be closed as each one checks out.

Costabile said most of the extended-stay occupants were in the most affected rooms and have already moved out.

Heavy Rains

Well, at least the heavy rains have revealed some problems that can now be corrected.

Some good memories of some very brief stays in the late 80s/early 90s. Not so bad then. Is the Cue N' Brew still open?
