The Augusta Mini Theatre announced at a news conference Thursday that it has raised $60,000 toward a 25 percent match required to receive special purpose local option sales tax funding.

The Mini Theatre was allocated $857,000 in tax funding to be used for the construction of a 250-seat theater. To receive the money, the theater must raise a 25 percent match, or about $215,000. It needs to raise $155,000 more to meet that requirement.
