IT WAS A TRAGEDY for the 8-year-old boy to have drowned in a neighbor’s swimming pool. Everyone’s heart should go out to his family. However, how can the sheriff and his department be held accountable? Isn’t a parent to be held accountable for the whereabouts of an 8-year-old child? … It’s not the sheriff’s job. It’s the parent’s.

HELEN BLOCKER-ADAMS seems like a very pleasant lady, but she strikes me as too much “sunshine and lollipops,” like the current mayor. Augusta needs a real leader in the mayor’s office who will take controversial stands and do what is right, not just tell people what they want to hear.

TO THE WOMAN in a yellow top and shorts, with a cup of coffee, walking her dog in Hereford Farm Road: Do not kick your dog. The next time if I see you kicking your dog I will call the police.

IT SEEMS YOU keep throwing money and more people keep becoming homeless and needing the money, free foods, clothes, etc. How are these people really being helped to get out of their homeless situation? Are they really able to work? If so, why do they not take a lot of these open jobs?

I HOPE PEOPLE were not fooled by the Libertarians at the gay pride festival in Augusta. They say they are for gay marriage, but what they won’t tell you is that they are also for repealing all of the nondiscrimination laws for employment and housing. Do you want to go back to the bad old days where it was legal to fire someone or deny them housing simply because they are gay? Then vote Libertarian.

MR. MOORE, THERE are other Chinese restaurants, thankfully. It is sorry when businesses, especially homegrown and not a national chain, have to close. As for the odd phrasing, it’s too bad we don’t have more American-made items to buy in the U.S.

HOW NICE THAT MAGIC Johnson’s company will help to set up a learning center for kids. But I sure hope the learning is not all by computers. That would seem to be a way for computer companies to overly encourage poor kids to have to depend on such expensive gadgets. What happened to learning centers who teach about book learning?

PAULA DEEN SAID a slur years ago and gets blasted. Blacks say it every day and “just part of the culture” is the answer. Double standard, and Democrats need to grow up and play nice.

Rain

Wasn't the recent drought caused by global warming? I guess we need to get our parkas now and beat the rush.

Oh, and internationally unknown...

There is no fascination with black people in general, just a widespread contempt for the behavior of SOME black people who embrace cultural habits at odds with society in general. That same contempt extends to any ethinicity who subscribe to the same behavior. You and those like you continue to mistakenly believe it is about color. It isn't; it is all about behavior and attitude.

TRAGEDY / 8-year-old drowned

Where were his teachers? Why didn't the recreation department teach him to swim? Why didn't the people where he gets his free lunch on summer days know he was going to sneak in the neighbor's pool? What is wrong with 'the village' that is supposed to be raising & looking out for everyone's else's little darlings? Why doesn't the city bus children down to the Riverwalk daily where they could play all day & get their free lunch all in one place. Then the Riverwalk would be safer from thugs, it would keep bothersome tourists away & keep the kids out of the hair of the other people who hang out where the the kids stay.

DEAR RANTER#1
Unpublished

don't you understand, as in the trayvonn martin case just to same as this one you have the mother/family looking to shift blame from the parents to "society" setting up for various "gub-i-ment" entities to be sued by "da mammy and daddy" in order to cash in on their own misfortune..but we al know the pool owner will not be sued because "da homies gotta stick to-getha"...both will blame everyone else but themselves, trayvon's mammy and daddy because he was nothing more than a T. I. T. (thug in training-just look at his pictures/posts on face book, his so called "snacks" we meant for him to mix up some "purple drank"-again see his face book posts indicating how much he likes "da purple drank") are looking to get "dey mill-unn dolla payday" from the homeowner's assciation, and this mammy "from dey poleese, cause dey aint not look fo my child in da pool) at 8pm at nite in april-when it normally get dark around 5:30-6pm....

The NWAG (N-word Anonymous Group)

will hold its annual Southeastern meeting for People who have said the ‘N’ word at some time in their lives and not meant it as a racial slur.

The Ga Dome has been booked and we apologize ahead of time for the cramped size of the accommodations but a larger venue could not be secured. Over flow with be handled by Turner Stadium and simulcast in both stadiums. Note: Busing will be provided at no cost.

Attempt to Deflect with Falsehood

Following is an exerpt from an editorial posted on CNN.com. It is written by Roxanne Jones. What CNN is doing by posting it is hard to fathom. It certainly is not helping race relations in America:

This is a murder case. One person is dead, and the other person is a murderer. Those words more accurately describe the facts presented in the case. There is no question that Zimmerman killed Martin, so there's no reason to tiptoe around the words.

No Roxanne, it is not a murder case. One can kill another person and yet not be a murderer. To be a murderer you have to meet certain criteria when the person dies. Zimmerman did not meet those criteria. Trayvon Martin attacked Zimmerman, and Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense. That's not murder.

With regard to Bill O'Reilly....

"He said to a black minister...Why are you so upset about Zimmerman when 93% of black murders are at the hands of other blacks!!"

.
Big fracking deal. O'Reilly does a better job than most, but he's still a tool of the system. He never follows up.

He let the minister and the actor Levar Burton (Jordi of Star Trek); get away with the old "built-in white advantage" and "institutional racism" ploy.

That's just wrong. We are supposed to punish whites for the "sins of their fathers" until Al Sharpton and/or Jesse Jackson (as pawns and agents of the DNC) announce that we have achieved redemption and thus their blessing. Of course, that day will never come!

O'Reilly also responded to an email complaining about the fact that there was even a "Zimmerman" trial to begin with, by saying that "Anytime an unarmed citizen is shot, Americans have a right to know the facts."

The first thought to flash through my head were the hundreds of "unarmed" men, women and little children that have been shot down since Trevon Martin was felled that day in Florida.

Think Chicago, Los Angles, Detroit, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, etc., etc., etc.

Where is THEIR trial????? Where is THEIR jury selection? Where are the media salivating outside and inside the courtroom? Where is the daily/hourly virtual vivisection of the defendant?

Don't Americans have a right to know the facts? Or is that just for white/black homicide? Or is it only if the survivor is white?

No folks, what we have, in reality, is a "built- in white disadvantage" and "institutional bias" against whites in this country.

All traced back to politics!

The only fascination I have is how the blacks can be fooled for sooo long by politicians claiming to have their interest in mind & hustlers USING them for their own advantage......

Seenit. Relax yourself.

Seenit. Relax yourself. Nobody expected the man to leave the salon except for the Muslim woman. In her country, that;s exactly is would've happened, in the US, he didn't have to. Different countries do things differently, and yes, it's hard for newcomers, from any country or any religion, to understand customs and rules and laws in a different country. This is why so many Americans get in trouble in other countries- they expect other countries to be like America, and are very surprised to find out that no, it's not.

Now, we aren't going to fuss anymore, we're friends.
