Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

A ROAD CAVES IN in Columbia County and it gets national attention. Back in February, Hephzibah-Keysville Road caved in at the Richmond-Burke county line, and it still hasn’t been repaired. Yes, they do come and put crush and run down daily, but you could have it fixed by now. We pay taxes in the country, too, so fix our road!

RICHARD PEARRE JR. does not seem to understand the seriousness of his actions. He is an active carrier of TB, which is an airborne infectious disease which can be spread to others rather quickly unless he takes precautions. He now needs to act responsibly.

WITH SO MANY OBAMA scandals to keep up with, I am hopeful Apple will develop an app for my
iPhone to organize all info from all these scandals. It’s information overload at this point.

EVERYONE NEEDS to take a ride to the landfill at Deans Bridge Road, look at the great job that’s been done with the new electric gate and the beautiful landscaping. Then drive a mile into the compound to see the new office complex. Outstanding. This is just the mechanics shop; the real eye-opener will be when the new office complex is built. How did all this happen? Is all this necessary when we can’t get twice-a-week pickup? Ask Mark Johnson why was the cheaper cans purchased at the same price as the older, sturdy cans, which would at least keep a wheel on! Go ahead, Augusta, pay your dues and get all this dumped on you! The landfill got their raises!

MORE THAN HALF of Americans think government should break into our e-mails. We have become so stupid that soon we won’t be free.

OBAMA’S FEDERAL government is probably – right now – reading what I’m about to send to Rants & Raves. What would George Washington say about that?

WE NOW SEE CLEARLY that Orwell missed the date by 29 years.

IT IS A SHAME YOU can’t walk in Harlem without being talked about. People sit on the project porches being nosy, talking everybody’s business. Why don’t they sweep around their own door and leave other people alone?

RANT TO THE new garbage package. Same services but one-day-a-week pickup with no reduction in price. What a sneaky way to raise rates, buy new trucks and lay off people.

I want the government to

I want the government to break into my emails and figure out a way that will keep me from getting junk in my inbox. Please, I beg them.

Unless, of course, they want to meet Russian brides, need Viagra, want to inherit millions from somebody in Nigeria, or want to buy every piece of junk available for sale- then I'm just what they were looking for.

The cave in happen in the richer part of Martinez, and not Harlem or the city limits of Grovetown.

The area near the Burke County line is usually Hephzibah or Blythe and not Augusta/RC.

Ok, now I have heard it all.

Ok, now I have heard it all.

Realtors are reporting that some people are going to open houses and stealing prescription drugs from the medicine cabinets from the homes. And that even though what they steal might not be their drug of choice, they can sell whatever they steal.

Who would ever think of that?

Ranter #1- that's because

Ranter #1- that's because Richmond County is BROKE, and they are more concerned with Downtown than with fixing your road. Your taxes are for the use of Downtown development. Get out as fast as you can, it'll just get worse.

Misinformation

Corgimom.. Can I ask why do you always present false information as fact? Where do you get Augusta has the highest teen pregnancy rate, etc in Georgia?

The teen pregnancy rates can easily be accessed, and I have no idea were you get the information from. For instance Warren, Jefferson, Burke, etc in the CSRA all had a higher teen pregnancy rate in 2011 compared to Richmond.
http://oasis.state.ga.us/oasis/oasis/qryMCH.aspx

I understand Riverman's angle because he loves to hype up Columbia County. I even understand that Brad hates Deke so much in terms of his over the top false comments, but I can't figure out your agenda.

The area near the Burke County line is general the city limits of Hephzibah, etc. The city of Hephzibah has its own government to repair the roads, and the city of Augusta has millions in the reserve funds.

I saw that on tv last night-- heh

This is what got got to me....dang

One man in the line pulled out a gun and shot the would-be robber, witnesses told police, who have charged no one and consider the shooting to be self-defense.

The shooter then got back in line, according to Channel 2 Action News.

He got back in line...!!!

JTF, haha...I can't ever

JTF, haha...I can't ever remember a team in first place who hit so poorly. When Gattis gets back they have to put him in the line-up. Anybody not hitting 220 this far into the season needs to get out of the line-up.

.220?

That's everybody but Freeman, I think. Anyway, this is the worst situational hitting team I have ever seen. Long ball or nothing. After the N.L. pitchers figured out how to pitch Justin Upton, he was done. His brother never was ($75 million buckos), and Uggla, well, he is just terrible. Hopefully the pitching will keep them close enough to jack a few and stay in front. Sure hope so.

Likely South Africa will lose

Likely South Africa will lose Nelson Mandela due to old age, shortly.

He fought apartheid to gain Black South Africans equal civil rights at the cost of serving 27 years himself in several known subhuman run prisons.

BUT BEFORE HE PASSES
and his history is rewritten to recreate a untarnished hero.
Take a minute to read his actual bio/history. You may find a better understanding his methods and efforts that he used to accomplish his Civial Rights agenda. He earned his Prison Time though, because he was convicted on bombings buildings and general rebellion/mayhem.

He may be a great man in South Africa.
But as person, he CANNOT BE compared to our peaceful Martin Luther King Jr. who peacefully protested and demonstrated for civil rights.

After reading Nelson Mandela history you see he was a violent person. Bombings and murders all at the cost on thousands of innocent peoples lives.

Quoting Wiki...
Although initially committed to non-violent protest, in association with the South African Communist Party he co-founded the militant Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) in 1961, leading a bombing campaign against government targets.

If you have ever seen a Necklacing where tire hung and burned around a person neck it is gruesome. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necklacing.

Google Necklacing images or click below.
https://www.google.com/search?q=Necklacing&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla...

The number of this types of deaths per month in South Africa as the ANC conducted its political purge, from 1992 through 1995 ranged from 54 to 605 and averaged 244 per month.

Yes he accomplished civil rights, but at a cost and a way that our own Dr. King would NEVER have allowed.

BTW: in case you skimmed over the BIO.
He was democratic socialist, a PC way of saying Communist
The ANC was a communist political party.
He was president of the ANC 1991 to 1997
Nelson Mandela was also awarded the Order of Lenin by the USSR

He was also given a medal by the USA on September 23, 1998
By President Bill Clinton. Which was sponsored by:
None other than our Socialist Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

NSA in Augusta

With the NSA being located in Richmond County, it’s a wonder anyone can keep a secret around here.

Then dial a few of the Middle Eastern Phones #'s listed.

Still no Bill Kirby editorial

Still no Bill Kirby editorial in the Columbia County News Times. Barry Paschal's name remains on the menu bar. There were actually no real editorials the past couple of issues. Barry must have laid a literal 2 weeks notice on them and they are in a tizzy.

Not Hephzibah or Blythe

Countyman, I believe you are incorrect on this one. The area in question is in ARC and not in the limits of Blythe or Hephzibah, unless ARC's GIS is showing the wrong limits.

I will give you that the area in question is on the line and it is my understanding that Burke County had to do the repair work done thus far because they couldn't get ARC to pay part even though it is right on the line.

I have another question for you. It is my understanding that the City of Hephzibah pays ARC to repair their roads, but they often end up putting crush and run in potholes because they cannot get response from ARC. How do you understand this process work? It doesn't apply here, but I'm curious.

Also, do you have an idea when the Five Guys is coming to S. Augusta? I see where it was approved, but haven't see anything else.

EXAMPLE.....

Bin Laden, old phone # using the old Inmarsat satellite network was
00-873-682505331;
the 00 meant it was a satellite call,
873 indicated the phone was in the Indian Ocean area,
and 682505331 was his personal number.

Want to bet anyone still dialing it, starts having a interesting day?
