Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

WHY WOULD ANYBODY think that ENHANCED garbage service is better? What it means is that your service went down from twice a week to once a week ... for the same price. This is a good thing? Better not miss your pick up!

IT’S TOO BAD THAT the Justice Department spent so much time investigating James Rosen, the reporter, and so little time investigating Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his brother, the Boston Marathon bombers. Eric Holder must be more afraid of Fox News than he is of terrorists.

THE WEAPONS BAN in Chicago sure didn’t help in Chicago Memorial Day weekend with six murders.

THE SUBJECTS FEATURED on the first page, editorial cartoon, and main editorial were certainly pertinent, but a rant to The Chronicle for running Memorial Day articles predominantly on Sunday rather than Monday.

SHAME ON ALL for questioning Ashley Solesbee’s willingness to forgive her attackers and for those comments made in judgment of her relationship with Wesley Spires. Spend your energy praying for their healing and your own lack of sensitivity.

I AM AMAZED AT the number of people who didn’t honor the Veterans by putting a flag out for Memorial Day. As military communities you would think that more support and respect would be shown for the people who are defending your country, and the ones who died for your freedom. Shame on all of you!

INSTEAD OF BLAMING the sheriff for all of the problems, sweep around your own neighborhoods first and take some initiative. You live there. Reclaim your neighborhood, if possible. It’s worth a try. I can’t recall any of this accountability being held on Ronnie. He did as he pleased and all you could hear were crickets. Not taking away from him but that’s the way it is.

ALVIN MASON OR Hardy Davis are not good choices for mayor of the city of Augusta. He is the commissioner of south Augusta. There haven’t been any substantial companies come and provide jobs that provide medical, retirement or any salary above minimum wage. They sent Davis to Atlanta. Both men think that the average black voter will put them in office. Thanks, Mason for all the “dollar stores” in south Augusta. Will you be at the next grand opening?
