The Augusta area could receive 4 inches of rain from Tropical Storm Andrea.

The storm is forecast to move through the area Thursday night into Friday morning, dropping 2 to 4 inches of rain with higher amounts possible in some areas, said meteorologist Mike Proud, of the National Weather Service in West Columbia, S.C.

Flooding could be worst in Aiken County, where some areas already have received 7 to 10 inches of rain this week, Proud said.

Wind gusts up to 25 mph are also forecast.
