The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office released funeral and memorial information Saturday for sheriff’s Deputy Alton Creech, who died Friday from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash.

A memorial will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Augusta, 3500 Walton Way Extension. Viewing will be held for an hour before the service. The Rev. Kevin Steele of National Hills Baptist Church and the Rev. Ken Gross, chaplain for the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, will officiate.

Creech, who was also a petty officer third class E-4 in the Navy Reserves, will be buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Aycox Creech; his father, Raymond Edward Creech; brother Kenneth Bedgood and sister Angela Yearty.

Pallbearers will be deputies Daniel Puckett, Brian Johnson William Wright, Daniel Burlingham, Steven Jones and William Geisen, who are all members of the sheriff’s office’s Motors Unit.

According to the news release, Creech was working on a project to buy bullet-resistant safety vests for the motor unit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made toward the purchase of these vests. Donations can be made to the RCSO Benevolent Fund, 400 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30901.
