Rodeo fundraiser for burn foundation set this weekend

 Cowpokes will ride into Columbia County this weekend to support the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation.

The ninth annual Rodeo Nights will be held at the Columbia County Fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the main event will begin at 7:30 p.m. both days.

This year will feature a new contractor with all new stock and rodeo clown and entertainer Gizmo McCracken. Lauren Terry, Miss Rodeo USA 2013, will also make an appearance.

A children’s area will feature pony rides, inflatables, face painting and stick horse races from 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday.

The Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation provides lodging and meals to families of burn victims who are being treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Foundation.

Admission is $14 for adults at the gate and $8 for children ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free.

Advance tickets are available for $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available at all Georgia Bank & Trust locations, Boots Bridles and Britches, Tractor Supply Co. in Thomson, BP locations is Augusta and Thomson and SOHO Augusta in Surrey Center.
