Rail repairs to close part of Sixth Street

Major railroad track repairs in downtown Augusta will close a section of Sixth Street for the next six days, transportation officials said.

Sixth Street between Fenwick and Taylor streets will be closed through Tuesday to replace the railroad crossing at the intersection and repave the roadway.

Motorists may use Fifth and Twiggs streets as detours.
