An Augusta convenience store owner who has been the victim of two attempted armed robberies in the past month thinks both involved the same man, who threatened to kill him for the money in his cash drawer.

Srikantappa Subbanna’s store, the Food Mart at 202 E. Boundary St., was targeted again Saturday at 11:45 p.m.. Subbanna reported that a black man about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 240 pounds entered his store to make a purchase.

Subanna said he saw “blemishes on the man’s hands,” which he said were similar to the marks he noticed on a man who attempted to rob him on March 28 at 3:55 a.m.

In March, Subbanna said his robber, armed with a silver handgun and wearing a red jacket and ski mask, threatened to kill him, but fled after Subanna locked himself inside a bullet-proof cash booth.

Both incidents were caught on surveillance videos, which deputies plan to review.

Is it really

Is it really that hard to go out looking for a job verses robbing someone?I thank GOD everyday that my parents talked to me about having morals and values. I hope they make use of the money they stole, because they will not be getting away with robbing people for long.

One way or the other

it will not be good for business.

Buy a pistol or shotgun and shoot him dead the next time he shows up but it is not 100% win situation.

Either the community will be ticked off, brands you a racist and you get more threats.

OR
you close and move to a safer area to restart, the community brands you a racist and you get more threats.

OR
You go broke getting robbed, close, and the community brands you a racist.

OR
someone in your family store ends up in the morgue and the community does not blink an eye.

To me personally, going home at night walking unharmed is the best winning solution.

"you close and move to a safer area to restart, the community brands you a racist and you get more threats."

Yeh, and then they will get some bleeding heart to complain because the area is a "mini-mart desert" and they just can't understand why nobody wants to open a business there.

Hey, if your business needs a bullet proof cage and your customers have scheduled alerts on the cell phones when it's time to come rob you.....it's time to close down and move somewhere else.

I would have a bulletproof cash booth equipped with

a portal and a high-powered automatic, high-capacity magazine fitted rifle mounted on a swivel that would cover the store completely. Oh, and mirrors mounted so that I could see every single square inch, including the bathrooms and out the doors.

It's the only way to keep neighborhoods that allow and protect scum like this from turning into food deserts. We really must do our part.

Even so, I don't care at all if someone thinks I'm a racist. I'm not, but it's not my problem if someone who thinks otherwise is too stupid to know the difference between self-preservation and racism, not to mention having even the most basic personal standards for social behavior.
