Do you remember the lyrics from the Merle Travis song made famous by Tennessee Ernie Ford? —

One fist is iron, the other one steel;
If the right one don't get you, then the left one will.

That's what I thought about the smoke and booms.

Smoke and Booms

Smoke and booms, empty rooms
It's raining out tonight
What a way to end a day
By turnin' out the light
Shoot the moon right between the eyes
I'm sendin' - most of me to sunny country side

You could hear something

You could hear something going BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, at regular intervals for at least an hour maybe longer, somewhere in the vicinity of the Deans Bridge Walmart. I left the area, so don't know if it is still going on. Road work? Rather torturous if you're attempting to concentrate quietly on anything, but I suppose whatever it was, was necessary. Hope the rain clears up the smoke. What was the white smoke at that concrete place between Savannah river and Greg's Gas Plus on Gordon Hwy, SC side? Hoped they were just clearing vegetation,because it smelled okay, but didn't do a lot for visibility.
