History museum features sports talk at lunch

Sports in the CSRA will be the topic of this months Brown Bag History Series at Augusta Museum of History.

Randy DuTeau, executive director of Columbia County Convention and Visitors Bureau, will lead the talk today about how sports can fuel the local economy and shape culture.

DuTeau has 20 years of sports management experience including stints as the general manager of the Wolf Creek Olympic Shoopting Complex in Atalnta and operations manager of Tour de Georgia. Prior to 2012, he worked for seven years as the events and sports development manager for the Augusta Sports Council.

The lecture is free to museum members and $3 for nonmembers. The museum will provides beverages, but participants should being a lunch.

Lunch begins as early as 11:30 a.m. The lecture runs from 12:30 to 1 p.m.
