Two Systems?

From the story above:

• Augusta Public Transit, Richmond Transit, no service Friday

I never knew that the consolidated city/county government was running two public transit systems. What's the benefit in that? You have to have two bureaucracies, two hierarchies. Wouldn't it be better for taxpayers to consolidate the transit systems?

Nice to see.

Separation of Church and State being observed so religiously around here.

Adam Bomb: you have no idea.

Adam Bomb: you have no idea. Also, concerning the people who use the bus to get from point A to point B. What are they supposed to do on Friday? The transit systems of all the cities where I've lived has a Sunday/Holiday schedule.

GROOO

I guess the Grooo bus system will be operating Friday. That would work for those folks for whom point A is Summerville and point B is the medical district.

GiantsAllDay you get it.

Without risking getting banned I see my point finally got across. Why do they have to shut the bus service down whenever they feel like it? People do have to go places on Good Friday and on weekends and official holidays. To me, bus service is like your utilities. You flush the toilet, cook your food and use your lights on Good Friday and the utilities are expected to be there for your use. Why not the bus?
