Women in Philanthropy awards $100,800 to 7 charities

Seven charitable organizations received grants totaling $100,800 on Friday from Women in Philanthropy.

Women in Philanthropy has donated more than $411,000 since its founding in 2007 as a group to promote awareness of women and children issues in the Augusta area.

The 2013 recipients are:

• Christ Community Health Services, $25,000

• Family Promise of Augusta, $20,000

• Heritage Academy, $10,000

• Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care, $8,000

• Rachel Longstreet Foundation, $5,000

• Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services, $25,000

• The Salvation Army of Augusta, $7,800
