A Savannah River Site Citizens Advisory Board meeting scheduled in Savannah next week will be held in Augusta instead, due to budgetary constraints.

The board is a stakeholder group sponsored by the U.S. Energy Department that provides the assistant secretary for environmental management with advice, information, and recommendations on issues affecting cleanup programs and other site issues. Its meetings are open to the public.

As a cost-cutting effort, the meeting will now be held Monday and Tuesday at the Hilton Garden Inn, Willow Ballroom, 1065 Stevens Creek Road, according to site official. Meetings begin at 1 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.
