During the campaign, employees with Savannah River Site’s managing contractor raised more than $1.17 million to benefit United Way agencies throughout the greater Aiken-Augusta area of which $358,000 was donated to the local group.
A matching plan added $64,000 to the contribution. SRNS corporate headquarters personnel also gave $12,000, making the total $434,000.
The company also made a separate corporate donation of $200,000 to the region’s United Way organizations, both in Georgia and South Carolina, this past year.
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions is a subsidiary of Fluor, whose members are Fluor Federal Services, Newport News Nuclear and Honeywell, responsible for the management and operations of the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site, including the Savannah River National Laboratory.
