Look for wind gusts all day

Winds that resulted in downed trees Tuesday evening are expected to continue throughout the night.

A lake wind advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. with winds of 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 45 mph.

Overnight Tuesday wind gusts of 45 mph were reported locally. The gusts resulted in several downed trees throughout Columbia County, according to Pam Tucker, director of Columbia County Emergency and Operations.

Tucker said winds this evening could result in more downed trees, power lines and make driving difficult in high-profile vehicles.

Winds are expected to slowly abate tonight as high pressure builds from the west.
