Zoning rules in a targeted redevelopment area along 15th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Deans Bridge Road will be the topic of a public meeting Tuesday night.

The Augusta Sustainable Development Implementation Program is holding a workshop on possible changes to the zoning code for land along 4.5 miles of road in the city’s urban core.

The meeting is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Josey High School, 1701 15th St.

The zoning review does not affect existing land uses, said John Paul Stout, the sustainable development manager. Updating the zoning code, which needs approval of the Augusta Commission, could aid a massive revitalization effort planned for the area.
