ENOUGH RACIAL POLITICS in Richmond County. Would the black commissioners be interested in raising the salaries of the sheriff and the solicitor if they were white? Equality means that black rookie politicians earn their salary increases the same way the white politicians did. Getting a raise because you are black is racist.

HYPOCRISY OVER THE use of torture and drones is mute. Obama’s use of drones is the best way to deal with fanatical jihadists, i.e. long distance. They get to die for their holy cause, and we get a few less boys and girls coming home in body bags or missing limbs. It’s a win-win. Go, drones!

THE ONLY SOLUTION to bullying is for somebody to stand up to the bully. Either the victim must learn to or the victim must have a defender till the victim has grown/learned self-defense.

A MACON MASSAGE parlor was closed because of prostitution. “Authorities spent … four years conducting surveillance and undercover ops.” Four years?! That’s a whole lot of undercover ops.

COURT CASES ARE moving faster, down to 163 days from indictment to closure. My daddy was a lawyer in Georgia in the 1930s. He told me in those days once a trial started, it was usually over, along with appeals, etc., within a month or two. That included death penalty cases. Hmmm.

“EXPERTS” SAY KIDS will behave better by watching public TV rather than the blood-and-guts stuff that’s everywhere. The blood and guts is definitely bad; but consider that since its inception, public TV has done its best to brainwash kids with socialism. And it’s worked!

THE 15TH STREET corridor had a $1.8 million “study” done. And that gets nothing built, just studied. The story, alas, is filled with standard dead-giveaway leftwing lingo.

THIS IS A RAVE for the new Holiday Inn Express that will soon be coming to downtown. It looks like the investment in the TEE Center is already paying off. Hopefully this new hotel will convince the other hotels on Broad Street to upgrade and modernize. This is great news for downtown!

THE PEOPLE WHO elected Marion Williams saw how he acted before and elected him again. They deserve him. Just keep him in Augusta.

NOBODY WANTS TO take guns away from responsible gun owners. The fear mongers just want your vote and your money.

I agree in priciple with the use of drones.

BUT!! Would you and a lot of others look up the words mute and moot? I dropped out of high school and know the difference.

It is not allowed anymore. When I was a kid that was the solution; spread his/her nose all over their face and the bullying was over. Kids today wind up in alternative school if they stand up for themselves, or worse yet, stabbed or shot by the feral _____s being produced by the litter today.

The renovation on the Holiday

The renovation on the Holiday Inn has nothing to do with the TEE. With the few events the TEE has and with most of the crowd staying at the Marriott, the TEE will have little effect. I'll guess Mr. Reddy has it on the market soon.

None of the biggest shows on PBS are about socialism. They are about science, literacy, appreciating diversity in society, and learning that quality entertainment doesn't have to involve trashy people doing trashy things or potty humor.. If socialism consists of understanding art appreciation, science, realizing diversity is nothing to fear, and knowing how to read so you can research claims made in the media and the watered down truths of K thru 12 history books, then you have a funny definition of socialism. What you are calling socialism is merely educating people to think for themselves and teaching them that culture is more than trashy people.

In reality, you probably don't even know what socialism means. You probably confuse socialism with communism on a regular basis. Communism is government ownership and control of the entire economy, where the government doles out housing, jobs, and food rations to everybody and social classes cease to exist beyond rich leaders and poor everybody else. In contrast, socialism puts basic necessities (education, energy, healthcare, food, infrastructure) under control of the government to make sure everybody has access to them while leaving the rest of the economy open to the free market. In socialism, private business and personal wealth still exist. In communism, private business and personal wealth no longer exist.

So, in the end, maybe watching PBS would teach you how to read well enough so you could look up the terms you use, which would allow you to use the terms properly. That way, you wouldn't get all of your opinions from Rush Limbaugh-- who is a college drop out who barely got out of high school and, as a result, is a verifiable fountain of misinformation.

Drones are an excellent tool.

As a grunt, I heartily endorse anything that lets these fanatics die for Allah without involving danger to our soldiers. The next step is fighter aircraft that can maneuver like UFO's because no pilot means no g-force limits.

The "experts" also claim

...televison and video game violence has no effect on children; but then sell advertising space on those same programs, all aimed at young viewers. Who's being lied to?

"NOBODY WANTS TO

... take guns away from responsible gun owners."

Only problem with that statement is the liberal definition of 'responsible gun owner' is any agent of the state. Subjects need not worry; they'll be taken care of.

Augusta keeps moving forward!

#7.. $100 million Cancer Center with crosswalk over 15th, DOT widening of 15th street/bike lanes, 25 acre commercial development near Kroger, demolishing/redevelopment of Cherry Tree aka Sunset, redevelopment of Regency Mall area( $3-4 million lake), Deans Bridge/Gordon Hwy intersection improvements, etc. The new GRU $1 million pedestrian park on Laney Walker is off 15th street too. I would recommend attending the future meeting March 5th(6:30 pm) at Josey high school.

#8. The TEE Center is beautiful, and the entire metro/CSRA should be very proud. The developers behind the Holiday Inn Express and 901 Broad(4,300 SQ. FT. commercial space & 9 apts) mentioned the TEE Center from the beginning. The Regency Inn was vacant for multiple years, and this renovation didn't happen until the TEE center came to fruition. The 20 events and counting will bring in additional private investments. The former WAGT building at 905 Broad will become meeting space/restaurant. The Ramada should be renovated, but the other hotel must be demolished.

Nobody wants to take guns

except for the "politically incorrect" models. Well said Carcraft. Now my problem... do I get the after market stock for my rifle or leave it as it is. Right now it is a simple target/sporting rifle. If I put the after market stock on it, it becomes a dastardly "assault" rifle.

Hold the phone folks... I have just solved the crime problem. When a thug is caught all we have to do is put them in an Armani suit and they become well respected business men instead of thugs. Never thought the solution would be so easy.

I bet the cases did move

I bet the cases did move faster in the 1930's. There were not as many PC laws and people said what they mean and did not mind if a few feelings were hurt. Not as many appeals on a death case either.

WWHHAT...replace Leno with Fallon

Maybe Jay Leno isn't the Freddy Krueger of late night after all. If The Hollywood Reporter's sources are correct, his reign of 11:35 pm terror may finally be coming to a close... for good... for real this time.

THR is reporting that, according to "two high-level industry sources", NBC will announce in May that Jimmy Fallon is replacing Leno in 2014. While the network still denies the rumor -- the possible change was first reported last December -- the sources explained the rationale is in part the result of stiffer competition for a younger audience.

In an act of world class hypocrisy

... The Obamessiah has issued one of his rare Presidential pardons to a felon whose crime was owning a sawed off shotgun. Sawed off shotguns have been illegal since 1934; the crime is supposed to be so serious that it triggered "a justified use of force" when FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi murdered an unarmed mother with an infant in her arms at Ruby Ridge.

Gotta make room I suppose for all the newly created felons when His new gun control laws manufacture a whole new crop of 'terrorist criminals'. Off to lunch with Ayers and Dorn, work is done!

I'll miss Leno.

Of all that crop, he stood out for lampooning BOTH sides of the political spectrum. Letterman sounds (and looks) like Pelosi without lipstick; as for Kimmel and Fallon neither can be shot on camera below the waist when The Obamessiah's name is mentioned.
