Rants & Raves

THANKS TO THE NICE MAN who paid for my purchases at Target on Feb. 15. He said it was from the Lord. If I failed to adequately thank you, forgive me because I was so surprised. I pray for God to give you a threefold return.

I AM A RICHMOND COUNTY VOTER. I voted for Richard Roundtree. I think I made a mistake. Being a worker in Richmond County, we can’t get a cost of living raise, but they want to give him a raise? This is wrong and disrespectful to all Richmond County employees.

IT’S NICE TO SEE THAT Cal Thomas and The Chronicle editorial staff finally agree that government and religion should not be intertwined.

MY FAVORITE PART OF the State of the Union Address, “Thank you, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.” The rest was a waste of time.

SOCIAL SECURITY WAS the original socialist scam pulled on the American people by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Social Security is broke.

STATS FOR THOUGHT: Gun ownership in America: more than 75 guns per 100 people. Homicides (regardless of the weapon used) in America: less than 5.3 per 100,000 people. Another inconvenient truth, but then Democrats have never been known to be bothered with the truth.

NOT ONLY IS A federal intrusion into pre-K years a bad idea, it is a Constitution-breaching act. And doesn’t that sound sort of treasonous?

RAVE FOR TUBMAN Learning Center. It is a great school. Dr. Frazier, you are a great principal and leader. This is a very proud parent.

I HAVE GIVEN something up for Lent every year since I was a child. As an adult I do the same thing.

RANT TO DOT. I don’t think anybody knows what is going on at Gordon Highway and Highway 1 on Bobby Jones. They have traffic blocked for half a mile in each direction. All you see is a bunch of people standing around doing absolutely nothing.

IF ANYBODY THINKS that Dr. Ricardo Azziz didn’t have something to do with the slap in the face to the ASU teams, I have some beachfront property in Dearing for sale.

RANT FOR ANYONE  wanting to change Social Security. Compulsory payments have worked for many years. At least most working people have paid for some or all of their retirement and health benefit. If given a choice of investing in Social Security or a private retirement fund, some would not invest at all or in something that could be bankrupt at retirement time and would end up on welfare and Medicare paid for by taxpayer.
