THOMSON — Fire rescue, state troopers and police were called out Sunday night after a vehicle crashed into the Thomson Huddle House.

The city gas department and Georgia Power Co. crews were called to shut off utilities to the restaurant on Hendricks Street, just off Main Street, after the accident, which occurred about 9 p.m.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Brenda Faye Armstrong, 56, of Thomson, was backing out of a parking space in a black Ford Expedition when she struck an unoccupied silver Dodge Charger. After hitting the Dodge, Armstrong continued accelerating up a grass embankment and hit the restaurant. Armstrong was taken to University Hospital McDuffie for treatment, along with several other people who were injured inside the restaurant. Neither alcohol nor drug use is suspected, the State Patrol said.

No charges had been filed as of Monday, officials said.

First the Waffle House at I-20

Now the Huddle House downtown. Dining out is becoming more and more dangerous.
