A local sorority will hold an open house and ribbon-cutting for a renovated historic house on Laney-Walker Boulevard on Saturday.

The ceremony, held by Eta Theta Zeta Foundation in conjunction with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, will feature the 109-year-old home of Luvenia Pearson, the first black licensed cosmetologist in Georgia and the founder of the Luvenia School of Cosmetology, according to a news release. The open house will be 2-4 p.m. at 1247 Laney-Walker Blvd.
