A Black History Month event will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Pine Hill Church, 859 Pine Hill Church Road, Waynesboro, Ga.
Pauline Jenkins, the first female and first black mayor of Waynesboro, will be honored.
Every time I see one of these Race focused meetings, events and or etc... I can't help but wonder WHY in this day and age of PC'ness is it still permitted?
Just when are we going to get past color and honor people for their real accomplishments?
I don't know a thing about Mayor Jenkins, she may be top notch, and I sincerely hope she is. But what if she is a bumbling failure that got elected because of her color? That honor would seem a little hollow, no?
Black history month is just so much feel good appeasement PC. Honor every American for their accomplishments; there are plenty of every ethnicity that have done great things.
There are plenty of every ethnicity that have done great things.
We need get away from the destructive growing concept of
Equal, BUT Separate.
It is time national leaders recognize that we have emerged from a major period of racial problems and we are the better for it. Most of all it is behind us.
It is time people open their eyes sitting in the food court at the mall and see we are no longer separate, but have grown together.
It is time for some hard core old guard leaders to finally open their eyes and see the tremendous accomplishments of the last 40 years. They need to quit reliving the hateful past.
It is time to get the politicians, radical agitators, provocateurs, and the incendiary speakers out of the picture. Civil Rights IS LAW and can be handled by the courts.
It is time to stop allowing certain people to abuse the Civil Rights accomplishments for personal profit.
It is time to remember, A Great Man, did not die for the direction the Civil Rights movement has been hijacked and has been taken in the last 30 years.
Remember his Name and his reason, Read his works.
Lets get back on track.
