SNELLVILLE, Ga. — Police in the Atlanta area are blaming a motorist for causing 15 crashes that left one person dead and another critically injured.

Authorities say the pickup truck driver left a trail of wreckage on streets in two counties in northern Atlanta’s suburbs before being apprehended after slamming into a restaurant in Snellville Wednesday night.

Police tell CBS Atlanta the man faces several charges including drunken driving, vehicular homicide, hit-and-run and reckless driving.

Gwinnett County police Cpl. Ed Ritter tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the man is suspected of causing five wrecks in DeKalb County and 10 more in Gwinnett County before the fatal accident near Snellville. In that crash, the female passenger of a car died at the scene and its driver was hospitalized in critical condition.

The suspect’s name wasn’t immediately released.

In CC they would still be talking to the suspect.

In ARC they would be looking at the intent of his heart. In both, if he is connected, they would wait to file formal charges until all of the criminal's financial business was transferred or protected. Judgements can cause damage to your financial status is not resolved before charges are set.

DUI homicide carried a twenty year mandatory sentence. But that was in the day when we eliminated murders from society, never to murder again.

Not a life for a life. But a life for justice sake and the assurance that never again will this person take another human life.

If you drink alcohol as a beverage

If you drink alcohol as a beverage, you own a small piece of the blame because the industry couldn't survive without social drinkers...that's my narrow minded, Bible thumping opinion anyway.

saywhatagain is soooooooo.....

I don't drink alcohol as a beverage any more....

I freeze it and eat it.

And because we eat food, we are responsible for diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Same logic, right?

Speedy trial, then lock this fool up for his remaining years.

If someone is a Bible thumping opinionated person you own a small piece of the blame because of the millions of deaths throughout the centuries caused by your line of thinking. Expand your horizons and get off the blame game. Just the thoughts of a rational person.

A clarion call for serious backgound checks

for all who try to purchase a pick 'em up truck or who try to purchase alcohol.

No more buying cases of beer. Only six packs of beer and single drink bottles of liquor should be sold at a time, to cut down on stockpiling and the serious damage caused by large supplies of alcoholic beverages available for chugging down all a one time.

Be serious fiat_lux. All a drunk will do is go to 4 different stores and get the case piecemeal.

In Alaska villages, drunkeness is involved in so much violence and criminal mischief that it has been banned.

Of course you know what has happened; people have learned how to make home brew, and a liquor smuggling industry has sprung up. A quart of whiskey that I pay $20 for will sell there for $100 or more.

So I own a gun. I have a bit if responsibility for another gun owner or gun stealer killing someone. I don'y think so anymore than I am responsible for someone who kills someone with a steak knife or a tire iron.

I had children. They survived without abuse. Am I responsible for the behavior of the mother discussed yesterday and today?

Good grief. Oh, I own a car and I bet I saywhat does too!
