Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Calvin Chew said Kentrell Dominique Wright, 23, was walking in the 1700 block of Douglas Street about 11:45 p.m. when he was approached by two men armed with handguns. The men took Wright’s money and cellphone and then fired a shot as Wright tried to run away.
Chew said the bullet hit Wright below the ear and exited near his upper lip.
Wright was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital. Police said the injury does not appear to be life-threatening.
Police are searching for two black men – one about 25 to 30years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a goatee, and the other 6 feet tall and about 190 pounds. Both men were wearing all black and possibly left the scene in a dark-colored Mitsubishi driven by another person.
