Students from the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command’s Marine Special Operations School, from Camp Lejeune, N.C., are scheduled to conduct a 20-day training exercise across a five-county area that includes Columbia County and portions of South Carolina through Feb. 12, according to an e-mail announcement from the Marine Corps.

The exercise, called Derna Bridge, will be conducted around Sumter National Forest, in or near Columbia, Richland, Sumter, Edgefield, Saluda, McCormick, Greenwood and Abbeville counties, according to the announcement.

The exercise, involving students from the special operations school and about 270 service members from throughout the military, along with local volunteers, will simulate an active military engagement and could include “blank gunfire and occasional flares.”

“Residents who encounter any difficulties associated with this training should contact local law enforcement officials,” who have coordinated with the Marine Corps in planning the exercise, the announcement says.

everyone does know this is the future of our Miliary

Our military future is wrapped up with these 270 fighting men and women. Future force structure will be with these awesome units that train for their missions to defend our country. We have tasted the cost of full scale war and been found wanting.

Nothing like

Spending our tax dollars on training exercises to arrest and or kill those who oppose The United States Federal Government's addiction to world domination.
