  • Follow Metro

Two people were sent to the hospital late Thursday after a head-on collision in Evans.

About 10:40 p.m., Jordan Arlo Krenz, 17, of Evans, lost control of his Datsun 300ZX on North Belair Road at Edwards Drive. Krenz veered into oncoming lanes and hit a southbound Toyota Avalon head-on.

Krenz and the driver of the Toyota – David Moore, 51, of Augusta – had to be removed from their vehicles and were taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital with serious injuries. Both were listed in fair condition Friday, according to a hospital spokesperson.

A 17 year old, lose with a go

A 17 year old, lose with a go fast 300ZX, and my guess, the latest and greatest smartphone with a hot text message or tweet, at 10:40 PM. This wasn't a gun but he was locked and cocked just the same.

Best wishes for a speedy recover to both Mr. Moore and the boy. Hope you get a new 300ZX and a little gas money from his insurance Mr. Moore.

inappropriate to make conclusions with lack of evidence

likely to have been caused from excessive speed because both persons were extricated from their vehicles

I thought that 17 year olds had rules as to how late they could be out driving.

The young man was driving

The young man was driving home from his after school job, before driving curfew. I can not speak of his speed but was informed he hydroplaned. Lets just be thankful both are alive!
And an FYI, the 300zx went out of production in 1989.
